Bates has said he can walk for nothing at the end of the season and as Leeds would get about £10m for getting promoted to the Championship why would he sell their biggest asset for £2M in January, which would affect their chances.
he`ll stay at leeds an get em up.get a bonus for staying etc.then in the summer he calls the shots, there will be no shortage of takers.
Your right I think he is an outstanding player but would represent a bit of a gamble at that kind of money for a player who has only ever done it at League 1 level.
If rumours are correct that Lita got 20k a week at Boro I'd imagine Beckfords agent would be touting him at about the same rate.
That's big money for most clubs.
In all honesty he is good but I dont think he represents value for money for us I'd look at other forwards or possibly look at the loan market again.
Extra TV money, Sponsorship money, higher match day prices and bigger attendance's from both home and away fans, more merchandise being sold, match day takings and other money making schemes all contribute and over a course of a season, £10m would be not for off the mark.
£1,000,000 absolute tops. Though I reckon he'd probably hold on for a move on a free in the summer so as to cash in on maximum wages, the greedy ****er:devil:
i think he is around 29,so not a young player,ie wont be worth much in a few years time, contract nearly up,but a good goalscorer,a bit lazy, reminds me a bit of Blackstock.I would value him at £1.25 in january.
