thats the thing alot of the problem is lack of consistency.
Might be worth questioning the decision as it was b loody harsh.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Don't want to get in trouble but that's why this "experienced" referee as Jim called him as never made the top flight in my opinion.

Compare him to our ref on Saturday - how may cards of different colours would Mr Hall have issued if he had been in charge on v Preston?!

For interest you don't have to wait for the whistle to take a F/K, only if the ref has asked you to.

I wouldn't appeal the ban because there is a risk that it would be upheld and extended.

Just what I was thinking, isn't it the frivolous appeal ruling? Adds an additional game to the suspension. Happened to Dex a couple of years ago after a red away to Blackpool (I think!)
A message to the other Premier League clubs when they visit Loftus Road.....

          "NUESTRA GLORIA, VUESTRO INFIERNO"

(If you don't understand it, then learn Spanish. It is the language of world football.....)

Thanks haqpr I've been racking my brains to remember what its called. Of course frivolous is the word.

You are right if you are found guilty of the charge they add an extra game on. However well we are playing we shouldn't risk losing him for longer than we have too.

Really is a ridiculous situation though isn't it. Of course it should be appealed and of course it should be over turned, yet everyone knows it won't be and worse still they may make it 3 games..........just shows what an absolute farce the game has become. People paid £25 - £30 last night to watch 2 teams play football 11 against 11 then because a player takes a free kick too quickly, he gets sent off and the balance of the game changes and he misses the next 2 games.
As I said at the start a ridiculous situation caused by one mans inability to Referee with common sense !

Common sense should prevail and the ban should be overturned. Why shouldn't you be able to appeal a red card for two yellows? I understand that the FA do not want every yellow card appealed, but when it results in a player getting sent off then they should have every right to try to get it overturned. Watson is a top quality player and he's on 20k a week (which means we're forking out quite a bit of money during a period where he can't play), so he'll be a big miss for us. If the FA think logically (which would be a first!) then Watson's ban should be overturned..

Im sure if we were cardiff Watson would have already been in the frame for saturday, unfortunatly we havent got a currupt fa behind us...

IMO no way will it be overturned, although ofcourse i hope im wrong.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Also, 2 mins earlier Reading took a quick free kick and did nothing
Pete - READING never asked for a wall to be placed 10 yards. It's no one's fault other than Watson's. Let's get on with worrying about 3 points on Saturday again Derby!

Was very harsh, but the ref did tell them to wait.

It wont be overturned, because technically the ref could be right.

Quick free kicks are allowed, but if the ref asked QPR to wait, then he is entitled to book Watson. Common sense is not taken into account when writing up the rules.

Hall could have just spoken to Watson, but he had already decided to send him off, by getting is red card ready before showing the 2nd yellow.

I recall a Prem ref using commonsense earlier this season in a Wigan match, when he could have sent Rodellega off after he pushed the ref out of his way to remonstrate with an opponent who had hit him. On this occasion the ref calmed Rodellega down rather than issue a red card.

What a shame all refs don't apply this type of refeering.

Andy Hall is a power crazy little Hitler that's why no common sense was shown! ...might also explain why he has never made it to Premier League level despite being around for years!

No chance but common sense would get it overturned......Has anyone ever been sent off before for taking a free kick wrongly?
