Wests, apparently we interviewed Rowett and he turned us down.
There is a longer version of that story mate. Apparently he took an offer we'd made to him back to the board at Brum and tried to use it as leverage to get a pay rise. Apparently this didn't go down well and was the catalyst for his eventual sacking.
Maybe.
Just feel it’s a bit of a poison chalice at the moment.
Expectations high, on the pitch investment low.
The likes of Warnock make it look easy, in no small part due to their exceptional management nous.
For a lot of managers though, trying to meet the expectations here would be beyond them.
Clement might do it but I’d hate to see him torn up for @rsehole paper the way Ollie has been.
From a purely unselfish perspective, I genuinely hope he goes somewhere else where he stands a better chance of getting his career back on track.
Every appointment is a gamble but this is the time to gamble and hope this goes the right way for us. My view is purely sentimental but I also think Clement has it in him given the right support and time, Derby were in top six when he got sacked, so he isn’t a write off. Olly should never have come back sadly probably the worst appointment TF has made, all the others I could understand except maybe Chris Ramsey. Now is the time to make the adjustment and get in his dream Manager!
Same dilemma we had when Rowett became available the manager we actually wanted. Should have pulled trigger then and got him in. Have we learnt from that???
That's what I was saying at the time too. Hollowhead was on a losing run at the time when Rowett got sacked.
What I don’t get is we are apparently very close to the FFP limit which means we can’t really spend much right?
If so why would anyone want to come to us when we have a bang average squad and a possible fine and or transfer embargo looming?
We are hardly an attractive option are we?
Spot on Dave. Problem is because of Holloway it distracts people from the truth. Yes formations and team tactics could be better but so could the transfer budget and standard of players we have at our disposal

Said something similar on another thread - no money/bottom half of the table/dof. A lot of strong reasons not to come here.
Also wasnt Harry a dream manager for A LOT of people (get the hand made banners ready). And Hughes, at the time seemed a very decent choice. Just think, have a real look to what Clement would bring to the table.
