Furlong should be going forward with Wszolek in front of him as a pair. Backing each other up. And Bidwell just is not a wingback in any shape or form. He also needs a regular left winger in front if him. Holloways insistance of playing three in midfield is the cause of the problems because he then has to shoehorn the rest of the side around them and we don't have the specialised players to play wingback. It's so unbalanced it baffles me how he is blind to it.
Every word. As plain as the cap on Holloway's head.

Everyone keeps on saying these days that the game has moved on so much. Well what happened to good old 442 or 4411. Where there are pairings all over the pitch. Something that the players can grow an understanding of each other in their respective pairs. Cb, Lb+lw, Rb+rw, cm, 2cf. Everyone should have a back up helping them. It happened for a hundred years ffs with success. If you don't have the players to play in these modern day systems then revert back to the tried and tested. If he were to play this way with the same players they would know each others games onside out. At the moment we have players moving all over the pitch randomly without much back up. It just seems like a scatterbrain approach. How many players have we had in both wingback positions so far?
