... or is he just being honest about where he wants to be? NB - see extra quotes on being booed I hadn't seen.
From The Daily Express.....
QUEENS Park Rangers supporters have been urged to continue their criticism of striker Adel Taarabt – because he thrives on their abuse
Morocco international Taarabt, 20, above, on loan from Tottenham, received jeers in his previous match for Rangers for trying a long-range shot instead of passing to a team-mate.
But he silenced those critics with a stunning 11th-minute solo goal against Preston and said: “I play better when the crowd is against me. I am from Marseilles. My idol Eric Cantona is from there, so maybe we are just like this.”
Taarabt, who is clearly putting himself in the shop window ahead of the January transfer market, added: “I have signed a one-year loan deal with QPR, but I can go if a Premier League club comes in for me.”
An Akos Buzsaky penalty and goals from Jay Simpson and Wayne Routledge completed Preston’s misery. he plays best under criticism.
“I don’t know why the fans booed me last time because we were winning 5-2 and I came on as a substitute and wanted to score.
“I understand they wanted more goals and for me to pass, but I have now showed them when they want me to pass, I’m not going to.
“Spurs are still coming to see me play. They wanted me to sign a new contract in the summer but I wanted to go to Spain or Italy, but they did not want to let me go. So I came back to the Championship to show what I can do and hopefully get back to the Premier League.”
