In fairness to Cox he has only played 132 minutes of Championship football, which is only 7 minutes more than Pellicori who hasn't scored yet in the league. He has played 19 minutes fewer than Agyemang who hasn't scored yet and 353 minutes fewer than Vine who hasn't scored yet. Simpson is doing very well indeed but with Helguson no longer at the club we only have Vine, Agyemang and Pellicori as recognised strikers and none of these are do better than Cox.

Granted Evans and Lita aren't doing as well as expected but neither of them are playing full 90 minute matches. Lita has been subbed 5 times and has come on as sub 5 times already. Evans has been struggling with fitness. Both of them though are doing better in terms of scoring than Vine, Pellicori and Agyemang and therefore would have been an improvement on those players alone.

Pete, you do chat a LOT of crap mate. I never wanted Lita, you DID. I was up for getting Ched, so were YOU.

You said Pelicori looked good and you even chatted him up for his boots...FACT!!!

So...I said lets get Chopra...YOU said he wasn't worth £4m...still think that?
At first, you wouldn't agree that Kamara was worth the money...yet another you've changed your mind on. I amit, I said I doubt Simpson is an out and out scorer and I'm pleased he's proving me wrong but don't make stuff up to make yourself sound knowledgeable as it annoys people.

Remeber, YOU also maintained the not only Pelicori (who you seem to have forgotten you championed) but also Heider, Vine and Aggy were going to be good enough and deserved a chance when we all said we needed better.

It's all good bigging yourself up mate, but your short memory can always make you look silly. A little bit of consistancy in future, maybe?
            Your mum would love me...

We have a Saaaa fend season ticket holder on this messageboard that says Bernard is NOT good enough.
I have to take his word as he is watching him week in week out. Yes he can get the ball in the back of the net but that league is poor if u look at matty Fryatts record in that division you would think he was world class. He has hardly done the same in the championship

I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Know its an unpopular view but I actually thought Aggy looked good when he came on. Almost Heskey-esque. Held the ball up well, showed good moments of skill, played a couple of good crosses in. He's obviously been working on his physique too.

Mind you, the entire team seemed to have the midas touch that day. Confidence breeds confidence etc...

                        ??
Not sure what people expect of Fryatt - but he's the second Top Scorer in The Championship, right now. That's more goals than Hooper... who's doing great, apparently.

Players who bang them in at a lower level are just as big a risk as those that are surplus at Prem clubs... and just as likely to have spells without scoring.
Helguson and Steffan Moore are good recent examples of that.
I'd rather take a risk on Beckford, Hooper, Fryatt or Barnard than go for a Prem player who's on the way down.

It's not about what league they're playing in, or were last season... it's how good a player they are, or will be.

A lot of this is "flavour of the month" stuff.... and too much is being made of how many goals these blokes have scored in the first 9 games.
They're all being written off and/or hailed as the next big thing based on very little so far this season.

                            Tut.

Why would we need to take the word of someone who watches a player week in week out, when we have the likes of Pete to tell us we should be signing a player on the basis that he saw him score a goal in the FA Cup about 2 years ago?

Well said Robbo and agree with Benny as well.

Come on Pete what is your response to all of our posts? How can you argue that Cox is having a bad season when he has played so little? Where is the proof that you championed Simpson? How come you've chosen to ignore players like Graham, Hooper and Fryatt when it comes to arguing that League One players can't score goals in this division?

My honourable friend, I refer to my post dated 15 August 2009

I know my football. Would add, we were not even in for him at that stage

Why has Cox played so little?????????????
