Know we still have a ways to go till January, but IMHO believe we should use the window to recruit two defenders (a CB and RB) before (and if) nothing else. Thank heavens we landed Baptiste in the middle, and hope Grant Hall is fully back in play by November, but beyond Onouha coming back we've got little else there -- Caulker is not going to ever return to his best; others not worth talking about. At RB we are truly hurting. Frustratingly, Furlong is still not a developed player, Onouha not a true RB, and there's no one else to fill the void. Consider this our #1 need. As for midfield, we look pretty stocked; and on the frontline, suggest we bring Eze into the first team after his loan and "gut it out" with our current less-than-stellar strikers.

Our greatest need in the January transfer window?

If Ollie stays might be an idea to get some wing backs and maybe fund that by selling a few of our surplus wingers.
Aside from that a good loan striker from Premiership could do us the world of good. A club like us should be looking at 2-3 decent loans from the Premiership. Plenty of London clubs around us so no excuse for not taking advantage of it.

One CB, one good striker. That's it. That'll see us comfortably mid table come the end of the season.
Have to bear in mind that January is notoriously difficult to get decent players in.Top Scorers 2018/2019

If I were Olly I'd look at a RB and a striker or two.
I know someone said it a few weeks back (and to be honest I thought they were daft at the time) but getting Austin back on loan seems to be becoming more and more of a possibility. Charlie really does seem to be out of favour at Southampton, and with the position they're in I doubt they'd release him to a rival club. If they want money themselves for the transfer window, loaning him to a championship club would be an option.
Either that or we bring back the Polt and feed him.Feed The Massimo And He Will Score

Ings could be a goer, hes another striker who will never start a prem game for his side again like chaz,
Wages is half each, so not to much of a problem if ffp allows it.
