  • Happy 100th birthday loftus road.

QPR will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of our first fixture at Loftus Road when we host Ipswich Town in W12 this weekend.

Rangers’ opening game at the stadium took place on 8th September 1917 against West Ham United, and on Saturday, a whole host of QPR greats will be back to mark the anniversary.

    Should be fun

Queen's Park Rangers lost to West Ham by three clear goals. It was the Rangers first match on their new ground and the management are to be congratulated on their efforts, even though their team suffered defeat'.

From the West London Observer 14th September 1917.

Wonder if any on here were at the first game and could give us some info on what it was like?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Should Ian Holloway select the Ned this weekend, the 30-year-old will play his 200th game for QPR, becoming the third player to pass a double ton of matches for the club this century after Martin Rowlands and Kevin Gallen.

haha and probably be in shock at the amount of somalis in the area too.

someone posted a pic on this forum of qpr fans from 100 years ago a few months back. would love to see it again as it was a brilliant photo of our clubs ancestors, i find it real weird to think of all the die hard fans that came and went generations ago.

The Queen’s Park Rangers story began in 1882 in a newly built residential estate of West London. Queen’s Park Rangers were the amalgamation of two local youth club teams, St. Jude’s Institute and C…

During the First World War QPR also played their fixtures at Harvest Road, In 1917 Harvest Road was used as allotments, and QPR took over the ground of the amateur club Shepherd’s Bush who played at Loftus Road.
