TURN IT IN PETE... We should be looking at players who will take us forward. At best this guy is a Championship player on his good days. He is only scoring because he is playing at his best level of football. Do you seriously think this guy would score goals in the Premiership if we reached the promise land?

One minute you mock player's from the lower leagues and then you make calls like we should sign a player who cannot make the starting SQUAD for his current Championship side let alone their starting 11. You'd be better off signing some unknown foreigner we all have never heard of!

As for the Adebola type of player comment... Agree this type of player would probably benefit our side however he has to have a footballing brain. Don't compare Odejayi to the likes of Adebola as Adebola is 10x's a better than him. Not sure what games you've been watching of late be we haven't been playing a lot of long high balls into a target man. It has been playing very neat triangle football, very quick and penertrating. This has worked very well and our pace has been what has caused so many teams loads of problems.

Pete, i think we should sign Osea Vakatalesau of Ba F.C.

he scored 12 goals for Fiji in qualifying, and clearly as the most recent goals vs appearances record is the only factor in signing a player and is not indicative of his ability or potential as a whole, we'd be a fool not to sign him...

Pete, you're well off the mark with this one!

You could add Odejayi to the long list of strikers at the club who don't score enough goals. Making him exactly what we don't need!

It's clear that what we need is a goal scorer, somebody with an eye for goal and a proven track record. I think you could put Odejayi in conference football and he'd struggle to be prolific!

            Odejayi's record in the Championship:

            2008/09 - 28 games, 1 goal......

            2007/08 - 39 games, 3 goals.....

and some on here had the temerity to mock SDC's goalscoring record :chill:

Beckford and Odejayi are non comparable. One has repeatedly proven himself time and time again at League One level and the other is enjoying a good spell.

It's like comparing Agyemang and Ebanks-Blake in January 2008 - it would have shown that Agyemang was a predatory striker rather than comparing their entire careers which would show they are miles apart from each other.

So, I'm not getting the stats for this season

5 goals in 6 games is a good ratio

8 in 6 for Agyemang was a good record as well but we all know his record since has been poor. It was also poor beforehand. Odejayi is no different. He is going through a good spell at League One. He has been poor in the CHampionship. His record isn't even as good as Agyemang's at this level.

He is worse than Agyemang so would be a terrible and pointless signing.

Surely if we had any sort of ambition we'd be looking a little harder than the dross being suggested on here?

And if we need a target man so badly, what is Pellicori for exactly? (Other than to make Agyemang look good)

The problem with pellicori is that as well as being crap he is injured.
