Two points

Would like to make two points after the end of the transfer window:
1. We employed a number of scouts to help the club find gems somewhere. Did they made their job?
2. I know I will be shot for this.....our neighbours have some quality youths in their ranks, hungry to play first team football. How come that while nearly all championship clubs have players on loan from them, not a single one to us when we're so close?

I don't think he is...

To me, scouting isn't a "get out, have a look, thumbs up/down" thing. Clubs and scouts are following youth-/lower league players for months and years. Do they have the right mindset, technical skills, physical attributes. Are they progressing well enough in their current settings. And all that has to be matched with the kind of players the Manager wants, and the DoF and Board sanctions for possible purchase.

Surely any scout worthy of the name, would be going to games and watching players even if they were not working. They would surely still have some idea of possible targets. It's not like starting a new job at Tesco.

This! We are rebuilding slowly and we must be patient. At the moment we are scouting athletic parents to give birth to boys.
