Sinclairs goal probably the best goal I have ever seen it world football...I remember the game I was 12 at the time and sat right in line with it in the ellerslie.

But also talking of bicycle kicks for pure technique youtube Youri Djorkaeff's stunning scissors kick against Roma for inter back in 96 I think, watch how high he gets up to do it.

Seriously though, as great as Taarabts was, you see goals of a similar quality scored on a regular basis throughout world football. He beat his man and bent it into the goal...great strike indeed.

Sinclairs was better for a few reasons.

The technique used to execute it was outrageous.
It was unique to pretty much any goal ever witnessed in the world.
Having the audacity to even try it, let alone pull it off puts this up with the greatest strikes ever (in my biased opinion, it is THE best ever)

These reasons are enough to put his goal way above Taarabts in respect of quality.
      very well put benny

We have all played football at some level and its great to score the spectacular goals but for me(lol just me) i like the build up.Collects ball goes past couple of players stops almost and then bends it round the keeper - which on its own is an art form,

Trevor's goal if mis timed - could have gone in row Z...like many players attempts at overhead kicks....

Which is why i think both are hard to master.

Having said that - having watched one of the best games at LR for ages - and QPR looking like a very good side....id quite happiliy debate whether Trevor's goal was better at Adel's - rather than the normal doom and gloom we have to put up with....

You say Tomato i say Tomato.....damm it gets lost on a messageboard
Spencer, agree or dissagree, I'll always respect your opinion mate as you do talk sense.

I just feel that Trev's was far superior and also very different to this type of strike.

Ha9 ranger, they said this morning it should have been disallowed by the ref.Ironic that it was a liverpool beach ball though....Reina had already tried to put into his goal.Having said that...being Liverpool i found it really amusing

I thought it was hillarious mate.

The fact that it was a Liverpool fan who threw it on made it all the more amusing

For sheer shock value, Sinclairs goal was just outrageous but Wegerle and Taraabt's goals were wonderful pieces of continued skill, not just a flash. A couple of goals people tend to forget were Ainsworth's at Rushden a few years back, particularly the first, the volley which again had the shock value.
Very hard to split the goals to be honest, I prefer the Bowles/Wegerle/Tarabbt style of goal but it will be Sinclairs that will always be talked about by fans other than QPR ones.

have to agree it was the fact that he had the audacity to attempt that overhead kick from a good 25 yards out

                      sheer class

                      good old tricky trev

My preference is Taarabt’s goal maybe because I was there but probably because I thought it was a better all round goal. Both goals were better than Wegerles and if there was one thing I know for sure was that on Saturday I witnessed one of the greatest goals ever scored in a QPR shirt.

Just imagine IF that Buzz shot had dipped another couple of inches though?? Now that would have been a contender.

One thing is for sure - both goals although different in technique - were great pieces of skills and had either been scored by one of top clubs, would be contender for goal of season.

Strongly disagree. Sinclair's tops them both, but Wegerle's was hands down a superior goal to Taarabt's.

Also remember john byrne's goal against chel**** in the 6-0 he went past 3 or 4 players with ease that day.

taarabt goal was brilliant superb finish.
