Maybe that would suit our system best? We have Luongo, Scowen and Borysiuk and Freeman as options as CMF and Manning would be ideal at RB for a pressing game, with his engine, speed, ballcontrol and competiveness. The same goes for Scowen who could shift position with Manning when needed. Offload Perch and keep Petrasso and Furlong as backup. We also have Onouha as possible RB if/when Caulker and Hall are back to their best. Then use the money for a quality FW.

But it's just finding a way of fitting him into the team which is wrong. He's midfielder so he gets in their or sits on the bench until he gets the chance that's my view. Had enough of square pegs in round holes play players in their rightful position so they can master it
Manning at RB making same errors Furlong has (and he would as their both kids learning) will get the same flack why hang him out to dry!!! It's same way Ramsey exposed Furlong to the two in form wingers in prem

Good with his left and right foot and a better player than Perch. Versatile, smart and reads the game we'll. Seldom silly tackles. Would give us another dimension going forward. Right now seen as a MF but I believe he has the attributes to become an even better RB. Remember, Clive Wilson was a MF before he became one of our best LB. Worth a punt I believe.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it - problem is we all have seen that it is broken.... on numerous occasions. Do we have to witness it again? Perch is the weakest link and we can't afford that. Reading didn't test him, but that doesn't mean that he is our best choice. Manning is an option and so is Baptiste....and they are better ones.
