    Gary Borrowdale....

    here you go pete:

i felt gary had a solid game yesterday didnt put a foot wrong and if he plays like that each game - we dont need a new left back.

that was a 10 x different borrowdale i saw against peterborough and forest

I agree and wished his shot had gone in at Preston.

Well done to him and every player how took part, made everyone of our fans proud.

He looked good, but can he perform like that consistantly?

He is still painfully slow and gets shown up against quality right wingers. Preston had nothing, so he looked good.

Have to agree with HammersmithR here. Yeah he did have a good solid game yesterday but he does get caught short for pace far too often and would struggle against a winger who will run at him, Jerome Thomas of West Brom springs to mind!

Hope he keeps improving specially against teams with fast and good wingers as HammersmithR said

He still only got a '5' rating in the Sun. Although the only player who made the team of the week was Taraabt

Don't worry he's had more than the one good game against Preston.

Okay, we can dispute whether he is good enough, but genuinely if one player wants to do well and try his hardest every game its him. Apparantly he is always listening to advice from the gaffer and Gorman and wants to improve himself each game.

He had a decent game on saturday, and I sincerely hope he is improving under the coaching at QPR - there's certainly still room for huge improvement. There were still some dodgy defensive moments on saturday - especially first half. Gorkks had to come out of central defence to deal with wide attacks because he was caught out behind play, and Faurlin had to cover for him a bit too much as well.

If he has a good solid month, rather than a solid game here and there, when we're totally on top in games, I'll eat humble pie - gladly.
For me, he's already taken a step up... from being shocking, to being inconsistant.
His passing and first touch - very good. That's something to build on, at least.

The fact remains we still have no cover for him at left back, with Connelly being out for god knows how long. Unless Ramage or Leigertwood could step in? Not ideal.

Thought he had an excellent game - said so in my "Humble Pie" thread earlier.

I'm still perplexed as to how a team as bad as Preston can get anywhere near the top 5. I know teams have off days but that was unbelievable
