Don't think anyone would argue Newcastle and Reading not good performances and results. However look at us overall and was extremely poor and at most other clubs manager would not have survived and nor should he have.

in between those they managed to lose at home to Burton.

They didn't win may more games under Holloway.
Apart from those I listed, they beat Wolves and Ipswich at the turn of the year then forest to save themselves from relegation.
They managed to lose against Burton, Blackburn Huddersfield and Preston as well. they got draws against Fulham and Leeds away and I think the rest were defeats.
Derby Villa Brighton Sheffield Weds Bristol City Brentford and Norwich

But let's all be blinkered and think that Ollie will get it right or let's get real and realise they will not and he will be sacked before Christmas. By which time it will be another long struggle and one that they might not survive.

Originally posted by Ginger Ninja View PostYes it was, when that run was that you are talking about. That run ended the week before the international break in February. So yes, it's the same run.
wins over Ipswich, Wolves, Reading and draws against Newcastle and Fulham, but these included some defeats Blackburn in the cup and Burton, both at home.
After this came defeats at Blackburn and home to Huddersfield.
The next run of 7 games saw wins over
Birmingham, Wigan, Cardiff, Barnsley and Rotherham and a draw at Leeds with a defeat at Preston somewhere in the middle.
That was it. Hardly spellbounding brilliant form under Ollie now is it?

Think we do have potentially an ok squad, need 2-3 good championship standard players,a system of play that suits and a settled side. Not expecting us to spend a fortune but do need to be doing something soon. The big problem is holloway,he thinks he is some tactical mastermind where the truth is he most certainly aint.

The team were playing very well mostly in the first run of 6 losses, but not getting the result they deserved. They then went on to be the form team in the championship. Only when IH started rotation did we start to deserve to lose (mostly) and play poorly.
But as you point out we lost to Derby (better players & manager) Villa (more experienced manager and spent mega £) Brighton (Promoted) Sheffield Weds (play offs) Bristol City (Good solid team) Brentford (outplayed us not for the first time) and Norwich (spent mega £) so can't really complain about defeats against thoseMy old man never said be a Chelsea fan...

No, I'm not expecting that either. Still none of this matters, we can lose every game pre-season. If we start with 3 wins in August when it matters, all will be good!

Originally posted by Ginger Ninja View PostThat wasn't the point, the point was we didn't just have good results under Ollie against relegation fodder.
Dress it up anyway you want i.e. played well just didn't get the results, rub of the green etc, but quite frankly, Holloway is a disaster, and although the squad isn't necessarily awful, he cannot coach or manage them to achieve anything more than a relegation fighting outfit.Last edited by stanistheman; 14-07-2017, 11:51 AM.

The point made, stanis, is that we were the form team while using a settled team. Outside of that run, but still using a settled team, we more than held our own against better opponents. That can't be argued against.
Once Holloway started chopping and changing, that's when the problems began.
