  • Watford - 6 defeats in a row.

Manager goes. Start of season expectations probably to try and stay up. Achieved that despite end of season slump. Obvious though with run of defeats and other things that were heading in wrong direction so took action. They can now recruit in another manager and give them a full pre-season.

QPR - Two sets of six defeats, seven defeats in last eight games and almost relegated from a position of relative safety. Expectations when Ollie arrived to try and get us up table and challenging. Manager stays. Likely outcome dozen games in we have to get rid so new manager comes in part way into season with no pre-season to prepare.

Looks like Watford perhaps have more balls when dealing with difficult situations like this. There is a chance Ollie will come good but we are taking one hell of a gamble based on last season and what happened in his last job at Millwall. Not to mention the end of season total collapse that almost ended in disaster.

Had we drawn one of the few wins we had... We'd be League 1 next season!!!

Might have won more games in League 1 so would not have been all bad! Chest beating and badge kissing would probably work better at that level too.

Alternatively Sunderland got 5 points since mid February yet stick with their manager...

i make no bones about it ollie is not the right man to take QPR forward, watford owner changed manager 3 times in one season and they still went up, TF needs a clear out of coaches and DOF if were to progress as a club in the championship ollie aint the guy to do it. were not a 50 point squad and were by no means a top 6 squad we gone backwards under him JFH wasn't the right guy either, Yep i accept JFH was boring and ill be honest football at certain clubs needs to be played a certain way as fans its what they want or used to. As a older generation fan i was bought up on cultured ball to feet on shocking pitches but they managed it, this pitch is like astro compared to the 70s sandbank mud heap and we don't use it. Ollie won't last 10 games if we don't start well. he aint going anywhere until the fat lady sings but for me she's warming up her throat already.

As for a replacement I've no idea where TF will start or DOF Les but surly think about it a bit more next time.

The watford manager lost the dressing room and had players threatening a strike unless he was sacked though plus this is the same watford board that sacked slavisa

Had we won a few of the losses we would have been safe earlier

And if we had won them all we would have been top. But we didn't and didn't look like doing so. That's the problem.

what if after 10 games we are top of the division? Watford sack their manager every season and I don't think they really benefit by it.

They now seem to have gained great knowledge when it comes to find managers who can organise a team. Spanish managers are obviously good at that..

then I shall be happily munching away on humble pie! Sadly think extremely unlikely. A daft appointment.

Maybe they were simply waiting for him to resign.

What happened at the end of last season was a massive misunderstanding of the situation by the Club as a whole not just Holloway - with the euphoria of the winning run the club, mistakenly, calculated that they were safe - LF even came out and said it in an Interview and that they would mix the team up and check out the whole squad before the end of the season. The players to quote Arsene Wenger went to the beach just after easter! we played well in some of those losses , but only when Holloway had thrown on the Cavalry - games like Brighton etc. We can only hope that with all the experimentation of 5 and 6 Changes every game has given holloway his best starting 11. Football is a confidence game and a with a settled fit side we are not as bad as some on here want us to believe.

I would agree we are not that bad. Unfortunately the manager is ...

I don't buy all this we went on holiday thinking we were safe after the international break. Plenty of teams in that position, including ones we played, but they didn't collapse almost to the point of relegation like we did. Ollie himself said he was putting out teams with a view to winning matches. The conclusion I drew was that he simply didn't know what his best team was, how to set them up and was in panic mode just chucking out sides in the hope they might do something. The losing runs we had were inexcusable.

Yes we had a half decent run at one stage but even that wasn't as awe inspiring as some make out. Had a few good performances and a few we sneaked something out of.

Need to look at overall results and over the 30 odd games he had Ollie was poor with a reasonable squad. He wasn't walking into a mess. It was handed to him on a plate to come in and do well with a view to setting things up properly for next season. He could hardly have farked it up any worse. And this isn't an inexperienced manager. This is someone who has been doing it donkeys years and should have known how to get the team playing better. No excuses.
