It's undisclosed but 4 million seems to be being bandied about.

Transfer fee is Ł500,000,for peanuts if he turns out to be decent, and if not, well not the end of the world because he cost so little

                  Correct, that's the fee.
You then factor in the cost of his wage over the length of his contract plus any additional fees for agents etc and you're talking north of a mil in this situation.

Im not sure our financial situation is such that we can say its only this or that amount.

Yes but but you've gotta factor the wages of the the out going players into the Ballance sheet at the end of the window also

                    • I dont think any club factors in wages in a transfer kitty.
If we get 7 million and the manager has been told he can have the lot to reinvest then he spends the 7 million.
Like dog says, wages in = wages out.

                          Many do, mate.
Biggest example is probably Arsenal, and look how well off that club is.

                          • QPR close to completing Goss deal...
                            http://londonfootballnews.co.uk/qpr/...ose-ferdinand/

                            Quotes from Les:

“Sean’s very highly rated and the mere fact he is even looking at coming to us is a real positive,”

“He’s an excellent young midfielder and exactly the type of player we’ve been looking at. That deal is close to being completed."

“We now need to raise funds to go out and purchase players, so if we can bring a few in who we think will have premium sell-on value, like Sean, then we’re very much moving in the right direction.”
