I want a cup run and baring a difficult cup draw there is no reason why it can't happen and still have a reasonable season in the league,

We're not imagining it, our record in the FA Cup is almost the worst in history:
Since the turn of the millennium, QPR have won three out of 27 FA Cup proper games (D8 L15). Indeed, of teams to play 10 or more games in the competition in that time, QPR have the worst win percentage (11.1%).
Only Plymouth (48) have been eliminated from the FA Cup third round more often than QPR (47) in the competition's history.
Therefore I optimistically predict a win today!
