he injury he got was a terrible one

it was, and even if you come back that kind of injury can mean you're never the same. Some will disagree but Gazza was never really the same after his.

The only thing we can do, the only sane thing, is to bring him on slowly and see how we go. FWIW I reckon that if he can't be bench ready for next term that might be it, there is only so long you can give, but we havent reached that point yet.
