        Good stuff!

If I'm honest I'd sooner see us go for Jermaine Beckford, Simeon Jackson or Gary Hooper. That said McLean is a proven goal scorer too and the type of player our squad is missing.

Agree 100% about Beckford etc but McClean is more than useful with 53 in 106 (a goal every other game) since joining Peterborough in 2007.Although he's another who's vertically challenged at only 5'8" - would prefer a bigger lump.

Good news if that's right pblock - what kind of fee we talking? Have we agreed with the club?

In order of pref I'd go Beckford then Hooper. As Gee says not the target man we cd do with but you can't argue with the goal scoring record - it rival's Clive Allen's, albeit mostly at a lower level. With the service from our midfield, cd be useful.

I was very impressed with McClean when we played Peterborough, I wouldn't worry about his height either it just means we have to keep the ball on the deck like we did today

Didn't they tell Wolves last season they'd turn anything down under £5m?

Not sure but know even when they were in league one and he handed in a transfer request they wouldn't accept less than £3m so not sure how we cd have agreed a fee. Don't Posh also have rich owners? And he is surely crucial to their chances of staying up.

That said, he is Hammersmith born I think so suspect he wd be keen on the move...

Pretty sure we will be going for another striker, but not McClean.

he is in the championship though
