I think Man Utd need someone presiding over just transfers. Very poor for a club with their scouting network and history in the transfer market for a long while now.

Yeah I think they do need someone to keep an eye on Jose big B++++++S before he undoes all the work SAF put in ,by buying older ready mades at a high price and ignoring what the club was famous for

Works both ways, doing threads being disappointed and down after not winning and doing them being excited and happy when we have won.

This was a thread purely on tactics, that was more than justified after the performances of late?

Hes made us hard to beat. So the tactics aint pretty but are working.
I am sure near on every single person expected a lot of low scoring draws and one nil wins when he was appointed and thats exactly what we are getting. Its a new team and getting the basics right first is so important imo.

We've looked the opposite of hard to beat in recent games, we've ridden our luck MASSIVELY. That matched with not enough cutting edge and ambition going forward raises the topic of his tactics.

Good win last night though, much improved - Fair to say I wasn't expecting it, but that's the championship for you.

                    • Thats some blinding fortune being unbeaten four out of five just down to sheer luck. Maybe that luck will get us play offs. Fingers crossed.

                      • It really is...

How Abraham missed last night I don't know.. Followed by that 1v1.. Not to mention Tomlin's disallowed goal which wasn't offside.

Fulham had two penalties and missed an open goal.
Reading dominated in periods and Smithies was MOM again.

I went up to Wigan earlier on in season and Wigan missed a couple of glaring opportunities that were also harder to miss.

We have to iron out the clear cut chances we're giving to teams - Because when a team takes them, we know what happens...... (Newcastle).

he hasn't made us hard to beat ..we have ridden our luck in a lot of games this season ...fulham being the most obvious...smithies has been one of our best performers in recent times that tells you a lot about how many chances we are allowing the opposition lately..which is a stark contrast to the first few games where we were a lot tighter and had allowed the least number of shot on target by the opposition in the whole division...it all went downhill form barnsley away

Ignore the last five games without a defeat. Its all a mirage and illuminati .

Deffo offside and could see it from where I was sitting. Tomlin was clearly behind Onuha when the ball was played and the rest of the defence were in line with Ned. The fact Smithies never bothered diving said it all.

We've certainly rode some luck in some of those games though. How we didn't get on the wrong end of a mauling at Fulham I'll never know.
