How many shots on and off target has he had in his QPR career to date?

And how many of those has he scored from?

And no massaging of the above stats please.

He's had 34 shots, 18 off target, 2 hit the post, 13 on target and 3 blocked and he's played as a CM in a 4231.

Just gonna emphasize how little this actually matters as he's a bl00dy CM and not a striker or CAM or winger. He's part of a central pivot that aims to win the ball back and play it forward to wingers or attacking midfielders.

34 shots on goal - 0 goals - hardly a great return for a CM. Part of his role is to chip in with goals. JFH has said that himself.

Yet in your words "we have probably got the best CM in the league with him".

That's the only comment people are pulling you up for (in the context of the above stats) - no argument that he hasn't been excellent for us lately.

In 39 games firstly, he doesn't shoot much and he plays deep. The aim for everyone is to pitch in with a goal, but this is the most ridiculous validation as to why he isn't the best. He's a f ark ing CM not a striker, not a winger, not an attacking mid. If people have to look for a stat that is totally totally irrelevant with regards to the quality of a centre mid, then I'm pretty sure my point is proven. I'm not gonna try and force it, because people will always look for something to call our player out on no matter how irrelevant (in this case, how a deep lying Centre Mid lacks the goalscoring touch).

When you look at everything else, and I mean everything else he totally outdoes everyone in this league. Tackling, Blocks, Interceptions, Aerial Duels, Dribbling, he's got it all right up there as the best in this league. FFS the guy is 5'8 and he's got the second most aerial duel wins in the league in CM and CDM. And for the record too, he's a CDM, we play 2 CDM's, a CAM and 2 Wingers. They are playing very deep and his main contribution is defensive and yet he's so fluid on the ball and so calm on the ball, while being aggressive in the tackle.

Ultimately it depends on what you want from your centre mids. I want my centre mids to win the ball back and play it to the front 4 who are better and shooting and can score goals. His job is to win it deep and bring it forward and he does that so so well.

Seems to me he needs to work more on his shooting in order to carry your tag of 'best CM in the league'. To achieve that his stats would certainly need to improve on 0 goals from 34 attempts.

In all other aspects of his game I agree with you.

Except for the fact that there is no one who does everything well. Shelvey doesn't do defending at all and that's a much more important job in his position. Conor Hourihane has played only 9 games at this level and he's done well but not as good defensively as Luongo. It's simple as the fact that in terms of doing everything necessary as a centre mid, in the last 2 years no one has been better than Luongo at this level and therefore he IMO is the best CM in the league.

But we're not debating 'doing everything well'.

Again, if his stats were even 3 or 4 goals out of 34 attempts then I'd agree with you. But at this point in time his shooting is a weakness in his game, therefore the area he needs to at least improve upon (not excel at) in order to achieve your elevated title.

Sandro is the most overrated player at the club, it's all well and good being "Able" to tackle but if you're going to let everyone run past you, you're not the most talented player and you're not the best we've got.
YOU REALLY DONT LIKE OTHER OPINIONS
Sandro on his day is the probably the best midfielder although he hasn't been great? as for letting people run past players Luongo has been of the pace in games was invisible against Newcastle along with the rest but if he's meant to be your play maker he should be stamping his authority in games which he isn't, (other than Saturday) as I said talented needs to do a lot more
any way as your king of the states how many games has he played this season? probably not the best midfielder in many games on our side let alone the opposition also how many MOMs does he have this season probably Saturday only, you may believe he's the best midfielder in the league, stats probably say different

Surely if he has had 34 shots then his job is not entirely to win the ball and pass it to attacking players. His shooting stats need some work...the rest of his game is top notch.

34 shots in 39 games isn't much, less then a shot a game. In any case the point is that there is no one who is top level at every aspect of the game, the only centre mid who comes close to it is Luongo and the key part is that he's top in the parts where it really matters.

it looked on the highlights Parker was running the show. Did our midfield give him too much space/respect?
