Put aside the huge debt and falling league position...as a club we have historically had periods of not being very good and suffered money troubles ...the one thing however that really bugs me is that the current regime have IMHO severely damaged the clubs reputation maybe fatally. Eventually the debt may go and the league position improve but we will still be regarded as a club that represents all that is bad in the modern game.
When we came up under NW we were genuinely well received, other clubs fans and the sporting world liked us. Something about the small club from W12 with the subbuteo stadium that represented halcyon days when football meant something ...the hoop kit, Stan the man how could you hate us. We might of been a bit of a joke as amplified in the 4 year plan but it was harmless most clubs fans liked us as we represented all that was good in the game before big money and greed ruined it.
However from being well liked for the right reason, we soon turned into the epitome of all that was wrong with the modern game ...not very good players on huge salaries many whom preferred to sit on the bench than move, ruthless break up of the team that got us up, reckless debt, a haven for agents, mercenaries, division in the camp, public fall outs with historical partners over land deals, fanfare declarations for a 40k stadium when we can't fill our current one, training ground bust ups with local residents and comical transfer dealings ....we've become a joke but a nasty one with any goodwill we once had gone and that for me is the saddest consequence of the current regime.
