Agree that the "defensive mids" don't have to be negative positions. One can provide the cover in front of the centre halves but the other should be capable of instigating attacks and linking with Chery and forwards, albeit from a deeper position. If both can do that and take turns in sitting then all the better. I do not see that point in Henry playing there. He will receive the ball, look up and would rather play the ball two yards for a centre half than pass the ball forward. If he gets it back he passes to the other centre half. He also hardly makes any tackles in a game and just jockey's the opposition rather than presses in away that will regain possession.
