It wasn't when the FT whistle went. I think what some are trying to suggest is that there are a few on here that will always find something to complain about. Defeats like we have experienced recently justify some of the outbursts, but this isn't always the case.

Either you think he's up to the job or you don't. Right now, I think an objective assessment would suggest that he isn't. Slagging off people who adopt this point of view wont change the reality of our chronic inability to play football. No need for anyone to dis anyone else.

The biggest problem we have is that replacement candidates will be in short supply, we'e got a bit of a credibility problem in our chain of command....

Biggest home league defeat ever in our history - yes I would say that would give us something to complain about ,,

You think it is objective? So your subjective opinion is that it's objective that he isn't...

It is most people's opinion on this board (we can have a poll if you don't think this is correct) and the results since he came here prove that he isn't. We survived last season, but at the moment things have to improve if we are not to be in a relegation battle. The only thing which could prevent this happening is that the standard in this division is not very high. However surviving because there are a teams worse than you is not really a successful manager.

At the beginning of the season a lot of people would have been happy with mid table because it was thought the division this year would be of a high standard. However it is apparent that this is not so. Very few teams have been consistent and with the team we have and an enthusiastic manager we could have a real chance of reaching the play-offs.

I have no faith whatsover in him and would love a manager to motivate and get these players playing to the best of their ability week in week out and we may have a chance of a top 10 finish.

Let me enlighten you. An objective assessment means consensus on a mutual, disinterested basis. My non Rs mates love takingthepiss but right now they are shocked at just how awful we really are. The media aren't exactly over chuffed, and some of these people have greater experience of watching and understanding football than you and unlike both of us are not partial. The majority of interested parties seem pretty hacked off as well.

Another key word which you missed was SUGGEST, which implies that the judgement , albeit objective, can not be absolute. You need to stop taking refuge in semantic distinctions, they won't save anyone.

I still think that until we get 10 games into the season, we should be making no judgement whatsoever on his position as manager as a fan base. We can be annoyed, but how can people be asking for his head without seeing him for at least 10 games, if not more. He's not getting the sack anyway, the only way he'll be leaving is when his contract expires in december and if he doesn't turn it around by then (which he will) then he has no right to be here.

We're already ten games into the season. 8 league games and 2 cup games.

4 points... and yea, I think he will. Every club goes through phases of form. That's what form is.

I personally don't really count cup games. They're a distraction from the league, albeit a fun one.

A distraction? From trying to finish mid table in the 2nd tier of English football? A good cup run would be fantastic. People say what's wrong with football is the money. Personally I think it's also this "concentrate on the league" rubbish. You end with thousands of football fans following teams who's only ambition is to stay in the league rather than actually try to others in a cup and give the fans something to remember......especially the young ones. We stick to this slow build and ignore cups, we'll lose our young fans.

We're still in the cups but I don't consider them in those 10 matches minimum since the performance from the player will undoubtedly perform differently.

1 more league game and we are already a fifth of the way through the season.

It's going to take a massive upturn in both form and results now for us to be in with a chance of challenging seriously.

He's royally messed this opportunity up by being negative, stubborn and ineffective.
