Not quite as long as 46 years but i did a 10 year(ish) stretch and gave it all up a few years back. Used to live and breath it but just completely lost the drive for it. Still follow the results and if a games on sky i would make it into an event and go and watch it down the pub. Very expensive habit just to renew for the sake of it.

Last year I was thinking of giving up for this season. But then I thought, give it one more just in case you regret losing your good seat. We all seem to be a bit bored, but when a goal goes in and you're out of your seat celebrating, that all goes out the window.

The other option of being an ST holder is to sell your home games through Smarkets, till you feel like going again? I tried not going to a few, and sod's law kicked in every time.

Shall we all have a mass exodus?

There's the problem, sky high pricing (by football standards) to watch garbage football when people are expecting a bang for their buck (and who can blame them). Our ticket pricing does not reflect the level we're at.

Apparently Huddersfield are charging a fiver for tickets for tomorrows game to get a full house to try to keep their winning momentum going .

For every Preston there is a Leeds and that is why I'll keep going whatever.

This is a depressing thread, but we shouldn't shy away from the conversation. We all support QPR, that's not in question, but we go for different reasons. As fan you need to weigh up those reasons against your expectations.

A 0-6 home defeat is enough for any sane person to question their loyalty, believe me, I did too. But you've got to remember how good it felt when we won the league, beat Chelsea at home, the euphoria when Zamora scored at Wembley. These are all fleeting moments like tears in the rain, but our time will come again. Don't stop believing, you got to hold onto that feeling.

I renewed out of habit I guess this season. I've missed two games so far, both at home, and have managed to sell one via Twickets.I'll pick and choose my away games from now on and to be honest I'd rather just go to the away games as I seem to enjoy them more and the result doesn't seem to matter as much, never expect anything from an away game now, so to get a draw or a win is a bonus and tops off the day. Very sad day when the likes of Iselworth talk about packing it in

Now my lads have moved out match day is all about meeting up, catching up, a decent meal, too many beers and the football is secondry
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Whilst I get the gist of what Isleworth says and agree the football isn't exactly scintillating, far from it in fact, i too have been going for the last 47 years and through that time we have had equally poor if not worse drivel given to us, 1977 through to 1981 was particularly very poor, particularly after what we had seen from 1972 through to 1977. Attendances dipped from 30,000 sell outs to 8,500 during this period and the entertainment was non-existent. Football has changed so much since then and now the distance between players and fans is so large mainly due to money, what we have to pay to watch the rubbish, mixed in with what the players now earn to serve up such rubbish. Football though is an entertainments business and attendances have and will again start to dramatically drop if we don't start being entertained again. It is a cycle though and good times will return, times like these just make us appreciate the good times all the more when they return.

Seems bad at the moment but I have known far worse. What I find particularly frustrating is the difference between that Leeds opener and the last three home games.
We know things can change quickly in football though. Just look at Sunderland and Newcastle - a couple of months ago it must have been depressing being a Geordie having thrown all that money at staying up then seeing it fail whilst your rival do it at your expense. Now they look like they will walk this league whilst Sunderland could be heading the other way.

I have been to every game this season but just could not be arsed with shelling out for the trip to Huddersfield and decided to get a ticket for the cricket final at Lords tomorrow instead

Will keep going until the end of the season as I renewed yet again more out of habit then love and thats the part that both worries and saddens me when the best part of the day at QPR is not the football but meeting your pals before and after the game

Very sad to hear Paul, but not in the least bit surprising. Really cannot understand how any fan can get any enjoyment at all from watching the rubbish we have had to endure under this manager.

On the plus side, at least it's not just me being a miserable git.

Good question!...... England have been $hit with fark all to cheer about for years. Managed by useless managers with $hit tactics to match. With over hyped, over payed w4nkers playing for us...... both as bad as each other if you ask me.
