Every manager has a different approach, some take longer than others to achieve what they want with a team, some of course, are unsuccessful, but I think the key thing is you have to give people time.
I don't think heckingbottom was manager then. It was Lee Johnson (current Bristol city manager). He left for brizzle, heckingbottom took over from his academy role at the club and the rest is history... Or the present... I don't know

we need stability says every fan yet 5 minutes later they want a manager sacked after 7 league games in a new season. seem to remember how farking useless LF/TF were for not getting Clement in when Derby signed him.......How'd that work out.

People need to stop farking moaning 24/7. we are a mid table championship club. We will have periods where we exceed that reality and bounce around the prem for a few years and periods where we drop below that and spend a few years in league 1, but ultimately, i think we are a mid table championship side and will fall back to that ultimately.

Shouldnt mean we dont strive for more, but really gets to me this moaning about how we play and this god divined right people think we have to beat teams.
Jeeez youre a grade a muppet ramsey, its about we should be beating teams by divine right, its about having a proper go instead of giving up with selections and tactics before we`ve even hardly kicked off, and everyones entitled to moan when they like! youre a moaning wum yourself!

It's not the policy as teams have proved there's loads of decent players in lower leagues you just have to pick the right ones. Gladwin, El K.ant and Washington the jury's out at the moment.
Luongo has only looked decent in 2 games since he joined us. Friendly against Watford and the opener against Leeds. When else? Just seems to disappear and no way near strong enough!

Personally I've always felt we would be mid table and hoping to have a crack at the playoffs but ultimately probably not make it.

For me the football is boring and I really hope it does get more exciting but I still can't fathom this talk of sacking Jimmy. Barring if you're Madrid or someone like that we can't keep replacing managers after a few bad results/performances and expect to do better afterwards. For me stability is key and unless we are in danger of going down (personally I'm not worried at all) then keep faith because it won't be an instant success.

So please if we do beat the league leaders (stop laughing) on Saturday I hope people dont get too excited and if we lose I hope people aren't too downbeat. A 6-0 loss is never acceptable but as a mid table team we will win some and lose some. I do just hope that our players know how to pass forward as that was annoying me as much as the score on Tuesday as we always checked back it seemed like.
                        Sensible post.

He has been one of our best players this season.

                                Why? On what basis?

I think everyone agrees that its unlikely that we'll end up in a dogfight this season, although we're very easy to suss tactically and I'm not sure JFH has the dressing room - caving in is always a really bad sign that they aren't playing for the guv'nor, seen it before. But despite that I'd give long odds against relegation and long odds against promotion.

Which leaves us with the key issue - the type of football we play. And for those of us who have problems with Jimmy that is the heart of the matter: we simply don't play football. We don't create. On a good day we can shut the back door and sort out a set piece. If that's enough for you and the JFH supporters, fine. But we've abandoned everything that once made this club respected. It is possible to play football with limited resources. I just don't think Jimmy is up to that.
