Takes time. Throw any 5 posters here into a 5-a-side team, and how long do you think it would take them to know each others game, and runs, and play like champions?

Maybe we have been spoilt in recent times by creative players who create something from nothing. Buz and Adel being the example.

Yes and for those of us who go back further, throw in the likes of Wegerle, Byrne, Stainrod, Currie, Bowles. Gerry Francis' teams of the early 90s, had decent attacking football played with the likes of Sinton and Sinclair creating chances.
However, it is not all down to having a skillful No. 10, but down to the players playing a pass and move game, something this lot under JFH not doing.
They pass the ball sideways and backwards with very little movement forward. The majority of forward passes seem to be long balls directed at Polter.

You don't learn pass and move in your sleep overnight.

All great players Stan, Gerry's team with Les up from could vary the way they played due to the way they were set up. Two good wide men with two full backs behind who could arguably cross the ball better than the wingers and a midfield who could pass it forward. The current team are set up in such a way that there is no variety and as shown against Preston that it is difficult to come from behind in games.

Plan was to put the ball in to the box and win first or second ball and score. Even if it was third touch doesn't make it an open play goal.

Some fans so desperate were doing ok they will look for any angle to have a moan about what's going on; current complaint not enough goals from open play. Last season complaint was we never scored from set pieces and needed to do more work on them

Can't do right for doing srong

Can we all quit our jobs and just get paid to practice together 5 days a week with trainers and coaches whose job it is it to learn our games and help us play well together?

West, No moaning just pointing out they we are very dull to watch and a bit of creativity would be nice. Redknapp's promotion team were not the best but we had Chaz who always looked good to nick a goal this team does not have that.

We're nicking goals now and the Redknapp side was no more entertaining then this one. There is no difference between the two. early season under him we kept cleans sheets and Charlie scored full stop. This season were keeping clean sheets and scoring from alleged set pieces what's the difference????

Anyone who went Yeovil away would give evidence of that

Isn't some of it just constructive criticism though? It's a forum after all. I thought with better finishing Wigan could have very easily equalised and we definitely rode our luck at times. Fans can see progress being made but IMO some of the frustration is understandable. After we scored the goal for the remainder of the game we were mostly on the back foot. The final 20 minutes was particularly nerve-racking to watch with Wigan throwing everything at us for an equaliser. We're not strong enough in possession to play keep ball. Yes we defended very well but I think its a dangerous game to play if you don't do more to kill the game off by going for a 2nd goal. I think JFH knows that too if he's honest - you could tell from his post-match interview.

With better finishing we could have had more to Stan especially if players took shots when they got the chance instead of rotating the ball. Second half four or five shots sailed right of the goal into the away end

We're shooting were just not accurate enough. It will come

West, I agree about Redknapp and Chaz as I stated in my original post. We have 9 points which is a great start but we have served up shite Leeds aside in the process. All I am saying is a bit of craft to go with the graft.

Agree with that I think the craft is all that is missing from this team. Someone with legs who can dictate play and put here foot on the ball and pick a pass. I don't think we have they in the squad currently

Agree with that Wests. Actually I edited my post slightly to make it more accurate.
