i really want CW to succeed but just don't see it at the present time , maybe he needs to play against rochdale and wigan and see what he can do , it can't be easy playing a few minutes here and there but we can only be patient for so long . his job is to score goals and he isn't doing that

And when do we ever play any different to a 4231? apart from when we are losing and we have to change it? Basically Conor will never get a chance up front unless we play a 442 which is never

Incorrectamundo... He started against Bristol last season... final day of the season...

He also started at home against Ipswich. He got replaced in the 80th minute by Nasser who ended up setting up the only goal for matt Phillips with a great run.

A game I thankfully didn't go to..... But the point still stands. He ought start a league game at home. Elf you don't play the French fella in the right then even playing him on the right instead of Cousins would be something.

As I added, he also played against Ipswich in a 442 with Polter and we scored when he came off... says quite a bit...

The boy was bought for good money and if he is a dud the question should be asked who was behind the signing? Because clearly our manager does not fancy him one bit and to be fair has not from day one. We are no longer in a position to waste 2.5-3 million on a player that plays a bit part role in the team. We are woefully short up from and as shown on saturday a goal scorer is needed to help us when we are in the #### as we have no player in our squad that can drag us through when the going gets tough.

Ok really can't be bothered to check you're stats but having been to most games last season didn't feel like he was given enough proper opportunities.

Even just after we bought him he was not given a go so just seems a bit odd and would have drained his self belief straight off.

Poor management of a young player IMO

I would say maybe a loan spell would do him good. Some new surroundings at a team that will play him every week. Get a few goals and his confidence shoots up.

Problem is, we're so light in the striker dept, we literally can't afford to let him go. Catch 22

Never saw anything like that at all, I remember Adrian Durham was gutted he left and he said that was the view of most of their fans.

2m is not a lot in today's prices for a young striker with potential to develop, just need to give him the chance to do so. I mean starting as a striker not cameo roles on the right wing or whatever.

Nakhi Wells and the sort you are having to pay £8m + for which we can't currently do so have to try and work with what we have and make them better players

So far Washington has done nothing to show that he's any good, he looks like one of our worst players. I don't understand why some people are so keen on Washington and so critical of El Kayatai?

                            if you read

if you read every coment you come up with the fact there is only one conclusion here we need to go out and buy not one but two strikers then hopefully that will create such a lot of competition that we will end up with a good few goals being scored look how few goals we would have scored without penalties, and soon the refs will be realising that polter gets the ball positions himself in front of the defender then somehow throws himself down rodney marsh style getting lots of penalties
if this goes on we will get twenty pens a season

I agree with this. It doesn't seem to be he has been given a good few games together.
I liken it to the situation of Gayle at Palace who never seemed to be given a chance when he was there.

I really don't get this that 4-4-2 isn't the right thing to do , we must play one up when we've had very limited success playing it for me we haven't had the m/f players to play the system for the last 19 months is it they don't have the work rate to get past their one man striker or just not got the intelegence to know when break forward ?
Saturday was was the prime example that we needed to change to 4-4-2 as early as 15 minutes into the game but no flog a willing horse in Polter when clearly it wasn't going to work
