We need a fit Faurlin type and a box to box guy who will chip in with a few goals.
He made no tackles, 10 passes in total (less than any other midfielder on the pitch), no interceptions, had zero communication with his defend... but yea back him to the hilt while you criticise the only guy out there trying to make things happen. Tried to put his foot on it and pass it did he? Is that why only Polter had a smaller percentage of the ball all game on our team and only one of their centre backs had less of the ball all game on their side? We looked worse after he came off, yet had 9 of our 10 shots after he did? Guess which two players made the only legitimately chance leading mistakes of the game? Smithies with their goal and Karl Henry, when he forgot how to play football and just kicked the ball straight to their onrushing attacker.

"It got worse once he went off" do me a favour, the only time we didn't look like conceding was when he came off. And for the record I thought he did great in the first two games, but today he no showed.

Sorry Nasser, I forgot you are never wrong. I don't know why the rest of us bother. You can make your stats say what you like - 10 shots sounds great, yet never looked like scoring for a start. Luongo making things happen? I look forward to that match.

Definitely not agreeing with that. You were aware the wind was all over the place all game. Goal-kicks going out of touch all over the shop. Smithies went for a ball caught by the wind and so couldn't quite reach it to catch it so had to punch it. I thought the shot for their goal was going wide then hits Beckford and rolls in.

The wind had a lot to do with it today, and I got the impression there are those who think we shouldn't have lost at Barnsley, and got straight on the team's back when the ball was difficult to control in the air, because bottom so Preston were getting the ball down better in the opening exchanges. How the crowd turns just like that, booing at halftime too, disgraceful behavior.

Henry had a fairly good game passing more forward than other players who were passing it back.

I saw Henry make a challenge and win ball with my own eyes today more then once so that stat is wrong. Out of interest what are they classing as a tackle before their suggesting he made none

The stats on Henry are pointless Nas with out the same stats on others to compare them against. His stats could be gash but way in advance of others in the pitch. Without all the stats of everyone it's just numbers your throwing out there

We were very very flat today and Hall missing was a huge blow as there looked uncertainty at the back. We are woefully short up front as Polter as our main striker is not good enough. We lack a player to get us out of trouble when our backs are to the wall and I thought may be that player but today made me think otherwise.

Perch : And we thought Ned wasn't good at right back. Shocking display.

Onouha : What he did he generally did well. Apart from the cool finish for their second.

Caulker : Not good at all.

                Bidwell : Not good either.

Cousins : Poor, but out of position.

Luongo : Lots of effort but far too weak and ineffective.

Henry : Surprisingly poor from him.

Yeni : Made me wonder what all the fuss was about. Nowhere near up to speed.

Chery : Occasional glimpse of a footballer there, but created next to nothing.

Polter : Tried, but zero service. Waste of time him being on the pitch if the others play like they did.

Washington : Looked lively eventually but lacking in confidence. If he had any at all he would have just headed past their keeper for a certain goal.

El Khayati : No worse than anybody else. Really should have scored though when he blasted over.

JFH : Not his finest moment at all. Sent out a team with no plan, no urgency and failed to do anything at all about it despite one of our worst first half performances under him, which in itself is quite an achievement. It might be harsh, but if we see anything like that at home at least again this season, he will get some proper stick. And rightly so.

Utter disgrace of a performance from start to finish and one which will hopefully be looked back upon as a one off and the game that woke him up to what he needs to do.
Great post, it's sums up everything about our players today

I think its more of the way we lost that really disappointed me. Didn't look up for it at all, hoof ball seemed to be the game plan. So many players had proper stinkers. And now I'm seeing JFH blaming it on looking tired? 4 games in? Thought we was going to be the fittest team in the league? Thats a lame excuse for me. First off Cousins is a CM so please stop playing him out of position. There was no need to play Henry at home against Preston (nothing against Karl just doesnt offer anything going forward). Could literally go on all night it was that bad but what stood out for me was the hoofing forward and lack of composure on the ball and creating openings rather than just panicking trying to hit Polters forehead at every opportunity. Also takes our best player Chery out of the game if Polter can't find him with a knock down or a flick on.

I thought Henry was the best of a bad bunch today. Always looks to get the ball wide to the full backs when he can. And he definitely made tackles. However, and I said it in another thread in the week, he's played every minute so far before today and i think it caught up with him.

I have to say I am at a loss as to what luongo provides. To me he looks slow and doesn't create much. Cousins didn't have a great game today either but at least he was getting on the ball as much as he could.

Perch had a terrible game but I'm not going to judge him on one full game as he was one of our best players in the second half of last season.

We aren't as good as we looked against Leeds and we aren't as bad as we looked today. Somewhere in between, 10th-12th place finish is about our level.

Only positive from today is we are still in the play-off places which is over achieving currently.

I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
