  • Nathan Elllington...

On sky sports saying he may have to leave Watford to get some games!

I think he would be a great option for us!

Helped Wigan up with 20 odd goals a few years ago, played in the premiership, someone IMO who should have a look at!!!

But they took Helguson off our hands to improve their striking options?? Can't say too much for the Duke if they think Heidar is an improvement.

Having said that, he WAS a quality player a few years back.

Yes he has, apparently he is being used as a impact sub, and not starting! He'd be a much better option than vine imo...

And a whole lot better than helgusson!

Blows hot & cold...one game could be brilliant next game could be shocking...then again better than most of our strike force.

A few years ago he was a top championship striker, not sure about him now though but then again sometimes a players needs to leave in order to have a fresh start. John Gorman could easily coach him back to being a top player. He might just not be getting the breaks and coaching at Watford.

Would I take a chance on him? Well I would as a 6 month loan as he has potential to be top act, he needs confidence, good coaching and games.

That season he played for Wigan under Jewell - they got promoted on the back of countless one nil wins - he was awesome.

I'd agree with you. His goal record for Wigan was decent and at other clubs not so great. Some players need a new lease of life and this could be good for him. I do reserve judgement on whether I feel he's capable of returning to goal scoring form though but with a short term loan, we've nothing to lose.

Not done much in the past two seasons.4 in 39 for Watford and 3 in 27 on loan to Derby. That's equates to only one goal every 9.5 games. At 5' 10" a little shorter than I thought.

Saw him play for Derby last season and was different class, exceptional, head and shoulders above anyone else.

That said his record in recent years has not been great and I would classify him with the likes of Kamara and King. They have shown in the past they can do it but not consistently.

Would love to see him given a chance on loan. For me would need to prove himself before considering permanent signing.

On his day he can be a handful but that day sadly hasn't come round too often recently for him. My worry is that if he were to sign and perform well during his loan we could have an Agyemang situation on our hands. Yes Ellington like King have had very good scoring records unlike Pat but that was some seasons ago. We could easily find ourselves with a striker who has lost it but by the time we find out he is on a 3/4 year contract.

Never been the same since his conversion to Islam. Could be purely co-incidental but may have something to do with dietary considerations and sleep patterns? Just surmising here.....
