Yeah 100% not a loan striker! - Me and my mate were saying that last night. Few of the balls getting pinged into him were balls better made for Polti! i.e. around his neck!

I did quite like the 3 pronged attack in stages in the second half.. I think once Yeni gets up to speed, this could be a lively front 4 if ever we need to change tactics halfway through..

Shodipo is infront of Washington for sure.

I would as well on current performances - Just saying I thought this front 3/4 looked good last night and could be a good play once Connor gets up to speed.
Thought he did better out on the left, off Polti, cutting in, then down the middle.

Washington is behind in terms of fitness levels. Probably best to judge him once he's up to speed and playing a league game in the strongest side but I get some people like a knee jerk

If he would have 100% scored that, from that position, then we have a 40 goal per season striker on our hands. Nowhere near as easy as it looked and he did absolutely the right thing.

You seem to have ignored Washington's touch for the first goal too.
Agree......If Chery would have 100% scored it then that is exactly what he would have done. Totally the right decision in laying it off for Washington to tap home. Didn't Washington also start the move off with a nice lay off around the halfway line?

I appreciate what a few have said about Washington doing nothing other than score last night but doing nothing and popping up with an important goal isn't a bad trait. Anybody remember Andy Thomson? His whole career was built around doing nothing for 89 minutes but being in the right place at the right time to score!

              Great post!
I seem to remember Charlie Austin being a little bit like that as well in a lot of games! He never used to do anything pretty, but he worked hard, chased everything down, and scored those all important one touch tap ins!

Thank you. But still no buyers on my generous offer...... We can all pontificate, but as usual when push comes to shove no takers. No change there.

Austin was very different imo, he still held it up well even if his overall play wasn't great. The issue I have with CW was that when you say he works hard, he chases after balls he knows he's got no chance getting. It's playing to the crowd and it reminded me of Mackie last season (not the seasons prior with us). When it came down to chasing after the right balls, he did that once all game and he got a goal from it, which again, a fairly simple lay off and tap in (that I'm still confident chery would have buried anyway) but it's a goal at the end of the day. What he needs to do is to stop doing the "playing to the crowd chasing" because whenever we win the ball back from the keepers kick (for example) he ends up always being offside, and he needs to start timing his runs and reacting a lot better to chances. I hope he learns to bring the ball down as his first touch isn't good to be honest, but that can be taught. What he needs is to start making more runs into positions early. I hope for our sake he's got that mentality in him but I've not seen it yet and I'm not basing that on two matches, I'm basing it on 8 months of football.

Actually that is the one thing Austin didnt do well. Zamora did yes but Austin struggled in that lone role when he had 50 yard balls pinged to him.

Nah Nasser, when Charlie arrived he couldn't hold a thing up there - Bit like Connor now. He improved and that part of his game got better, just like I hope Connor's will.

I fail to see why you have any issue with a guy who has only just turned up, hasn't had a full pre-season and has scored in both appearances? Why so harsh, don't understand it.

I think you should stick to stats Nasser because what you're saying doesn't add up again.

You want him to not chase the ball down, when JFH's philosophy is the striker is the first defender and to press from the front? I mean 'playing to the crowd chasing'. What the bl00dy hell is that hahaha! Would you have Polter not do it as well??!!

Timing of the runs etc. - Give the guy a ####in chance will ya!! You don't become the finished article overnight!

You also say he needs to 'make the runs earlier', half the time last night the ball was either pumped in around his neck, like he was 6''3 Polter, or pumped over the top aimlessly. When balls are coming at him like that, it's nothing to do with him, it's the service.

I don't think many fans (if any) will be with you at all on your views to be honest...

He didn't pull up any trees last night make no mistake, but your issues with a guy who is at least trying, run too deep for me.

He started slowly at Peterborough and came good. He is far from the finished article, granted. But as others have mentioned before, he came back about four weeks later than the rest of them so is likely to need time to get up to speed.

The manager and the other players seem happy for him to be here, so that would indicate that shown patience, given time and opportunities, he is likely to be at least competent enough to be a member of the first team squad, even if not the other main strker most of us feel we are in need of. I was very surprised to hear that he was getting abuse.

Our fans love it though don't they?

For as long as I've been going to QPR there has always been at least 1 player in the squad getting dogs abuse. Even Paul Furlong and Heider Helgusson went through in their early days with the club and look how good they both ended up doing for us!

I can understand it with overpaid prima donnas who don't want to graft like we saw a few years back. That said, it still doesn't help anyone and it certainly isn't warranted with anyone we have turning out at the moment!

When did that happen? I didn't hear that. Sure there were groans from the crowd when he lost the ball or didnt reach a pass, but that happens every game to other players. Didn't hear anyone giving him abuse.
