Prices have gone MENTAL !!Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Its all relative to the amount of money in the prem. Prices are inflated due to the amount of sponsorship etc being pumped into the league. Teams are now flusher and have more to spend but also less need to sell. Its only going to get worse for the foreseeable future. Prices havent reached anywhere near their peak yet

I thought the premier league was fantastic last season, gets a hard time of it but leceister were a breath of fresh air and spurs played some great stuff. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Chelsea fu ck up each WK. Our game last WK was more exciting than our whole season last year. I hope its a bit more of a reversal as the premier has been far more exciting than this long winded, too many games poor quality Micky mouse division. Give me quality over qty all dayI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Agree with the OP, 30m for Bolasie is an absolute joke.
In general the gulf between fees being paid in the top leagues and the rest of European football is staggering. How can Bolasie be worth 30m yet we can sign a Polish international midfielder and get change from 1m quid?
As a few have mentioned, it is due, at least in part to the new TV money being paid. From what I can tell, it is the agents that are benefiting most from this as things stand. You'd like to think that extra cash in the English game would benefit fans by allowing clubs to attract a better calibre of player and should safeguard clubs against financial ruin due to over expenditure. In reality I can't really see it doing either so far, it just seems to have pushed the market rate for players up by 20%.
I reckon there is an opportunity here though. If teams in the Championship do a decent job of their scouting, pick up the best players from the lower leagues and get themselves promoted there is huge opportunity. Obviously Premier League payments are huge, as are potential transfer values for young English talent!Last edited by Tarbie; 10-08-2016, 10:19 AM.

No one forces you to pay these transfer fees. I'd love to be in the Prem again. We should negotiate with promoted squad that wages increase to reflect new higher premiership income but if relegated they only get paid what they were on in the championship. Determine wage cap for any new players and bank the rest to pay back some money (finally) to our shareholders.

I think this would be a great year to be in the PL with the extra money but more importantly there are some terrible teams so it increases the chance of going up. Hull have no real manager and barely enough players to field a team and look doomed before the season has even begun.
