  • Too Many Games ?

Were both sides to progress in their respective EFL Cup ties against Exeter and Swindon, they will have played eight matches by the end of August

If you win against Swindon, you can have eight games in 34 days. It's ridiculous. I'm not going to play a weakened squad.

“You need your whole squad because if you're going to play 11 players you're going to ask for injuries.

“We have to be creative because you want to keep everyone as strong as possible but we have eight matches in 34 days if we beat Swindon.”

Excuse me JFH but I think you will find that all the other teams that win this week will have the same number of games! Get on with it!

so one game every 4 days, 5 between two, it isnt that bad. Not ideal but would prefer us in the cup. First time I have disagreed with him.

His point is that with a concentrated squad, a game every 4 days isn't going to be healthy in the long term

If a manager or club take cup games as unimportant it breeds a recipe for complacency that runs into league games and that we at QPR should know very well on past experience

in the words of a famous manager ''it is, what it is''
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Meaning that we're going to have to compromise somewhere. On the plus side the torrent of fixtures may sharpen up the search for cover in a couple of badly needed areas.

If we find ourselves in a snug mid table position come January, I hope we have a proper go at the cup this year. Resting players in the search for greater reward doesn't always work out.

Not really sure where he's coming from. Take tonight. We could & probably will easily make 9 changes from Sunday. Giving subs etc such as Ingram, Perch, Kwpekwa, Lynch, Greco-Cox, Petrasso, El K, Washington, Cousins, not to mention Yeni valuable game time.

We could do similar in the next round if we win and some of our "first team" would only have 7 games in 34 days (1 every 5 days)

The next round could also give a chance for any new signings/loanees a chance to play a competitive game (plus Sandro and Toszer if still here)

PAMPERED FOOTBALLERS!!!! and as has already been said it's the same for everyone.

Oops missed wigan but still we have a game.every weekday and weekend if we win but then two week.inyernational break after. So good time to recover, this is still when players are getting fit. Still really only 7 games back to back, cant include blackburn in this fixture run. Defensively clearly fine to plau this much as would CM be if all were fit. Just need a back up winger and back up strikwr and he has known that all along.
