Don´t think Fraulein had a big contract in his final year, but who knows.

I doubt it. Hill was literally on peanuts, and Faurlin on pay as you play.

Green would have been on decent wage too.

Gotta be a massive well done to the board, Jimmy and Les, and a big thank you to Lee Hoos. Sorting our finances out was and is our number 1 priority imo, above even promotion. This pre-season shows we're on our way to doing that.

Still clubs do it and tbh I'm not sure how many are complying. Selling Sandro would help, any fee we get. But we did have a budget and a further budget if we sold.

Either way, look at it like this 1. The scouting is getting better 2. Negotiations are way better, need i say more. E.g. Have that striker Wolves we won't be mugged off 3. We are signing the right types.

Many clubs still won't spend £10 million, Newcastle are a different kettle of fish and have sold heavily as well. Any club coming down is going to have cash at the ready, Derby have to go up I think because they've spent unreal amounts and haven't sold anything.
Negotiations are better largely because Ferdinand is more suited to the job than Beard ever was or could be. The latter had no football knowledge at all.
