Washington really needs a 4-4-2 so can't see him playing much unless we're losing and need to change the system or if Polter gets injured. Maybe if we get another quick striker we could play him in a two up front from the start and play through midfield (like Fulham did against us last year with NcCormack & Dembele)

I Like CW and think he can do it at this level, however i do agree with the thoughts of the OP, that not sure where he fits in. We clearly want to go with 1 up top and im not sure he can do that role effectively for us. Could be used as a winger, but then we start falling into square pegs, round holes that has been a big reason IMHO of our recent downfalls.
Can be used when we are losing to bring on and stick next to Polts to try and get a goal back, but cant see him starting too many games. We probably need a striker in who is similar to Polts.

Conor CAN play up top. We will have the midfield to accommodate him when everyone is fit. Just that we will keep the ball on the ground instead of hoofing to Polter. That depends on the strength of the opposition's midfield.
Conor has pace and def has a role to play this season.

It's a long tough season. Plenty of games. You're always going to need strikers with something different to offer; and CW is a very different type of player to Polter.

Either way, can they both play together? Or are they too similar?
Washington more a nippy fox in the box type, quick on to threaded balls and very active in and around the 18 yard box.
Can they play together? For me absolutely yes. I've always liked the 'big man, little man' combinations. Polter to win balls into the box and harass defenders, Washington to pick up the scraps and loose balls. Unfortunately for those that like this way, like myself, it seems JFH is not keen on it.
I can only see Washington being utilized if we need to change our style of play, drastically if the usual way is just not working. That or an injury to Polti obviously. Can't see him getting a massive amount of playing time if I'm honest.

Maybe Washington also can do a job for us as winger, together with ScoobyDoo and Ngbakoto? Would be interesting to see him in that role,he has the attributes to do well in that position. Then buy another Polter-esque player as back-up/first choice CF.

I reckon connor can play the lone striker role, just differently to polter. Making runs in the channel, stretching defences and creating space behind him for Chery. Its a plan B to playing the more target man type player. Played up front on his own in the Euros, closing down from the front and working hard which fits into Jimmy's new system.
