We are looking for the right players at the right price, and to stay inside FFP. That's how most of us see it.

Exactly this. Who knows what we have been trying to do, as things are much tighter around the club now and not so many stories are leaked. Seems whenever we sign a player, we are linked with him for about a day, then the signing happens. If the players we are selecting are having big price tags put on them, im glad we are not budging.

I think we are just being managed a bit better financially these days.

Obviously we are after another 2 or 3 attacking players. We've been linked with a load and have trialed a few, Jimmy and Les have also confirmed as much in the press a few times. But there are some stupid fees being paid up and down the leagues at the moment, Championship sides dropping 10 or 12 million quid on players and Premiership sides buying players for up to and over 50 million.

It's important that we remember our recent past and where throwing money around with no consideration for potential consequences got us to. Whilst of course, I'd like to see us playing a better brand of attacking football than we saw for most of last season. I'm more concerned about the long term future of the club and seeing us being run properly, and within our means. If that means that we have to develop a reputation for driving a hard bargain and miss out on a few potential signings, then so be it. If it means we have to resort to playing 2 banks of 4 and trying to win games 1-0 then I'm cool with that too.

In the long run we need to trust that the club are looking in the right places for new signings and will seize the opportunity when the right player becomes available for the right price. Better that than going back to the days where we signed players with bad attitudes on too much money!
