  • Where will you finish?

    QPR fans,

Done a pre-season interview with one of your fans, Wayne Sumner - http://www.TheFootbalLab.co.uk/2016/...w-specialists/

Predicted your lot to finish 9th. I think you'll be strong defensively under Hasselbaink, saw Burton play a few times under him and they were really well-organized. However, I'm not sure I see enough individual match-winners in that squad for you to make the top six, missing something up front for me. Would be interested to get your views.

    Good luck for the season.

I think around mid table 9th to 13th. Good overall squad and if Petrasso and Shodipo breakthrough this season could be good but I expect our striking options will let us down plus there are clubs with far stronger squads. Pretty optimistic tho as if we get mid table again yet having got rid of so many players such as Phillips, Hoilett and so on it is progress and would show you don't need the big names.

Fair points. I'd be more inclined to tip you for the top 6 if Charlie Austin was still there, or you had a goalscorer like him to bank on.

It's a premature question as it's virtually impossible to predict until the transfer window closes and the squad is complete. You'll get much more accurate opinions if you ask at that time.

I think that is a decent assessment of how we stand at the moment. If we can get a 15-20 goal a season player in (where are they?) top 6, otherwise just above half way

Agree it's not easy to sign a guaranteed goalscorer. Rhodes, Gray and McCormack have all gone to Championship clubs for around £10M, a lot of inflated prices.

I reckon 14th. League is strongest I've known it. I reckon few teams will surprise aswell Wigan & Bristol C

A lot of people fancy those two, not so sure myself. Feel Huddersfield could go well.

We will end up just outside the playoffs: number 7 or 8, I think.

If we get a good striker in and at least 1 good winger, then a top 6 spot is certainly achievable,if not probably around mid table, a good striker can make that much difference

I'm thinking around this for a finish before I see how the first 10 games pan out. Possible flirt with the PO's depending on the signings we make before the end of the window.

                        Blackburn are my dark horses.

Yeah Huddersfield could go either way, brought in a lot of German players and Kasey Palmer from Chelsea a great talent. We haven't got enough fire power for play offs. Obviously you never know but really can't see it. Another few seasons improving the squad and we will get there I reckon.

I think the problem is playing one up front, we need to play at least two and the goals will come.

We also need to start taking shots, like the second half against Northampton as it could create chances.

Exactly this. If the season started tomorrow I would say something like 14th, but we are only 2/3 decent signings away from being able to mount a push for playoffs IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
