      I agree.
When QPR went up last time it was in no small part to a well drilled side with a strong defence and of course Austin up front.
It went a bit pear shaped though in the 2nd half of the season when he was i jured fpr about 9 matches.
This time round, the defence and midfield are not quite as strong, but the attack is a lot worse. This is why I think QPR will be lucky to even make the top half.

P.S. Dark horses for Promtion - Huddersfield or Bristol City.

Brentfird have sold near on every good player they have and even their captain to us, but they will do four places better than us.
One thing I love about this forum, it's the eternal optimism.

agree I think we may even make it into the top 6 at some point but will fall short and end up 7 - 10th

This is true. But I still think we're lacking in too many departments to say more than mid table, almost irrespective of new arrivals. (depts missing to date include: pace & creative mf to service possible striker, plus evidence of tactical flexibility - i.e. coherent plan B) It's all part of the long term plan. ;) I am pretty confident that we won't struggle this year, but for me its a tougher division than last term.

The league is looking really strong this season,we seem to have bought well so far,if 2 wingers & and a striker come in of quality then would say 6-8th ain't unrealistic

All this "much tougher league this season" is absolute rubbish. Everyone can beat everyone and consistency is key to success - same as every season.

Not sure how you work out last years championship as a strong division. Last term there were some very poor outfits on display, and a lack of consistency from some of the front runners. This year all the new arrivals - from above and below - look to have a bit more potential and some useful sides just failed to make it. Everyone knows that consistency is the key, but its a little harder to be consistent when the opposition is consistently strong. We shall see.

Ever thought of going into football management Hal? You seem to possess all the tactical acumen, and come across as the arm-round-the-shoulder type. Suspect you'd give your Chairman a hard time though, always pleading for a bigger transfer kitty.

I reckon we'll definitely finish among the top 24 teams.

Never said last season was a strong division but it certainly matched the required points for promotion (90+), relegation (<45) and top 6 finish (70ish) over the last 10 years.

18 of those 24 teams are still there and are all still as easy to beat as they are difficult to beat. IMO the league is no tougher than is usually is.
