But in all seriousness, Pilkington would be handy here in the knowledge that we'll have someone else ahead of him. He's a good utility player who can take different roles quite easily."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. Pilkington is a step up in class from hoilett.
This bloke will chip in with goals and has the ability to create things, which hoilett never really brought to the table. Solid championship player imo who's more than capable of playing regularly for a team challenging for the playoffs or promotion.
Much prefer to have a slower winger who actually has end product then a quick one who just runs around in circles or when he needs to produce a cross or pass doesn't.
Would be a great signing for a 1-2 mill. The only thing that worries me is I saw someone said he had some ones issues or something?Last edited by maidstone_hoop; 10-07-2016, 02:01 PM.

If a player has talent and game awareness, he doesn't need pace. Look at Faurlin, Charlie, Hill, Nelsen, Dunne and beyond our club, Beckham, Scholes, Bryan Ruiz, Pienaar, Mata, Snodgrass, etc. All these guys succeeded at their respective level with average or below average pace, because they could read the game and get into positions. Pilkington is a good footballer who will do a good job for us."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. always thought he looked quite decent at Norwich. Havnt followed him too much since his move to Cardiff, but any winger or midfielder who can chip in with goals is most certainly welcome as this is a big area we have struggled in for quite a few years now.
Not sure why some are getting worked up about the fact he has no pace. If he can score and assist more than someone with pace - Hoilett - whats the problem.
