premier league has become silly this summer so far. The gap between championship and prem will grow as the years pass now. Need to get up ASAP to be able to compete.

To be fair, with our club, if we do get promoted, I can see the owners being willing to spend in our first season just in the knowledge of the earnings coming later after our first season up.

          Sidwell signed for Brighton.

Would possibly take a punt on Powell and avoid the rest.

The money Palace are spending is jaw dropping for them.
We really need to get back up there asap.
Would love JFH to get us up with untold 1-0 wins and then see how he would manage with a right free quid in his pocket.
Cos he doesn't seem the Harry type who would get any mercenaries whatsoever.
Let's hope he gets the chance to show us by his own good management getting him there,

Agree Nas, but then every club who do that are taking a bit of a gamble if they went straight back down. Yes parachute payments help, but it can damage your club long past the payments.

As Kev said, Palace dropping massive money. Deeney £20 mil rejected. Leicester reported to paying well over double figures for bang average players.

whoever goes up going to find it tough to compete.

Absolutely crazy. There is no value in England whatsoever. All those names on the 1st page are washed up (aside from Powell), better to find our own targets.

Pick up Spurs' castoffs for the home grown quota and buy the rest from the continent.

At least while we still have a chance to. Two years of buying cheap from the continent as it stands.

is of course the right answer.

No one wanted or needed who is on the down escalator, that's one thing I thought everyone had finally grasped.

Nick Powell is the only one on there worth a look for me.

Yes, there are a few other decent players on there but I really doubt they'd fit our wage structure. Also I think young and hungry is the way to go. If we are going to pick up players in their late 20's, let's at least make sure they are Championship players that are still improving (like Joel Lynch) and not Premiership players on the slide (like most of this list).
