  • Premier League released list

Some interesting ones on the released list today.

A few I think would enhance us and not break the bank.

    Leon Osman

    Steve Sidwell

    Stephan Sessegnon

Kolo Toure (wages an issue I'd say)

    Steven Fletcher

    Sylvain Distin

    Kieran Richardson

    Charles Nzogbia

    Marouane Chamakh

    Brede Hangeland

    Stephen Pienaar

    Nick Powell

    Steven Taylor

    Victor Anichibe

    Joey O'Brien

Few decent players in there on a free.

Osman - decent a few years back but dont think he has played much during the last two seasons

Sidwell - would've been my first signing of the summer. Gone to brighton i believe

Sessegnon - interesting option, but suspect he'll want a higher level

Toure - as you say wages

Fletcher - shocking last few seasons, although could be decent at this level. Would still avoid.

    Distin - thought he retired?

Richardson - released by villa, says it all. Covered at LB.

    Nzog - avoid

Chamakh - not sure he would be cut out for championship life

Hangeland - getting on, but possible

    Pienaar - injury prone

Powell - worth a cheeky punt

    Taylor - injury prone, rubbish

Anichebe - might be decent at this level, but wouldnt be keen on him as the main striker signing

Obrien - dependable, and might be worth a look at

I think Steven Fletcher could be a great coup at this level myself.

Obviously all about opinions and I'm all for them!

That's what I thought when I saw it too mate, think it's a semi decent signing on a free for them.

Leon Osman - Not the player he was when he got his england call up and hasn't got it in him anymore

Steve Sidwell - Decent player but doesn't seem to be too "for the club" given his time at both Chelsea and Fulham

Stephan Sessegnon - Poor work ethic

Kolo Toure - Wouldn't drop to this level

              Steven Fletcher - Taken

Sylvain Distin - Too old and would be unnecessary filler

              Kieran Richardson - Sh ite

              Charles Nzogbia - Attitude

Marouane Chamakh - Decent player but won't score many and doesn't seem much better than our current options

Brede Hangeland - Slow and old and not as good at reading the game as our slow and old cb's recently (Hill, Dunne, Nelsen)

Stephen Pienaar - Too injury prone but so talented

Nick Powell - Young player, if wages aren't bad, he'd be a good signing

Steven Taylor - Meh, doesn't really bring much to the table that we don't already have

Victor Anichibe - Solid option, but should be a last resort really

Joey O'Brien - No pace really, maybe again as a last resort but we need a pacier full back

Osman known for getting into the box and pinching a goal. I think he would be worth a punt

He used to be known for this, but in the last 3 seasons he's scored 5 league goals in 68 games.

when Palace have to pay £12m for West Ham defender Tomkins you know the transfer market is barmy. Think we'll be shopping at Lidl rather than Waitrose
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

He's the type that you would need to take on trial for a few weeks to get a good look at before signing imo. Obviously a decent little player a few years back, but how much has he got left in the tank. We've been stung quite a few times over the last five years when signing players based on rep.

I would say Osman and Powell are.the only two I would entertain as both would be in the same wage structure and could be of use. Although I don't really think either are better than what we have considering their recent history. A good reason these.players are avaliable on a free.
