I think Theresa May will probably get the nomination, though I am concerned she will give into the demands of the EU. If she is elected I hope somebody else will be in charge of the negotiations (Gove). I think this could work.

Why don't we stop all this nonsense now and fast track Nigel for prime minister.

Did anyone hear his leadership speech this morning? I was quite impressed tbh. He came across more like a socialist than a tory. Promised an extra £100 million a week to the NHS by 2020 too.

That's the likely outcome. With Gove Minister for Brexit. But I'd very much like to see Michael get it. His whacking Boris and his facilitating the defenestration of Dave proves there's steel there. A more valuable commodity than charisma.

Gove is a very intelligent man, the teachers on here won't like it but he did a good job. Head & shoulders above anything the Labour party can currently offer...

Whole thing has been one giant farce tbh. The referendum was planned for 4 years and when leave actually won it seemed like no one had any idea what to do, utterly embarrassing.

All the candidates for PM seem like utter tools anyway, spineless cowardly pushover snakes the lot of them.
The only politician who seems to be making an effort at sorting the country out oddlt enough is nicola sturgeon

Nicola Sturgeon is a total embarrassment. She talks for a country of about 5 million people. Goes off to Brussels where nobody wanted to speak to her. Wants another referendum for independence even though she lost the last one. She doesn't even have a majority in the Scottish parliament.

You cannot be serious - she is an utter hypocrite..! She feeds off hate & Anglo-phobia in order to try and split from a larger union, then swans off to Brussels for a brown nose and asks to stay in....a larger union, what an absolute snake she really is...! Can't stand the woman.

Quite surprised at the level of vitriol towards Gove on here. Would like to see more detailed reasons rather than the fact that some just don't like him. Listened to his entire speech and thought it was by far and away the best pitch for a leader of a British political party I've ever heard. I suppose only a victory and a bit of time will determine if it was simply well chosen words or has any substance.

As for Sturgeon being impressive in any way at all ...

My god some utter tosh is spoken as fact on here.

Having been born a Londoner (and lived there 36 years) I have lived on and off in Scotland for the last 8 or so years (mostly on)

This Anglo-phobia beng talked about is only in the minds of some south of the border. Whilst there is on the whole good natured ribbing of each other, there genuinely is little anti-English sentiment up here (other than football) and proven but the last independence vote.

This issue simply boils down to the fact a country which has voted by a large majority to remain within in the EU is being forced out by those who wished to leave in England and Wales. The only options are to allow Scotland to remain within the EU and GB or an independent Scotland remaining within the EU.

Michael being PM and Scotland leaving the UK would do for me......
