Birmingham, QPR and Nottingham Forest are among a host of clubs hoping to sign Tony Watt this summer.
Sources have told News Shopper that Charlton striker Watt has also attracted attention from Wolves, Bristol City and Blackburn. The 22-year-old, who signed for Charlton last January, was sent out on two loan spells this season as his future at the club became increasingly unclear.
He is expected to leave the Valley this summer after the South Londoners were relegated to League One. Several Championship clubs are interested in securing his services and Watt is believed to favour a move to another English club rather than returning to Scotland.
Blackburn – who took Watt on loan earlier in the year – intend to reignite their interest in the Scotland international but face competition from several Championship rivals. A former Celtic and Standard Liege forward, Watt netted three goals in three games in August but then lost his way as the problems at Charlton continued.
However, he showed glimpses of his potential at Cardiff and Blackburn and is set to be the subject of intense speculation in the summer.
