That's true afterwards, but it was very risky beforehand and we shouldn't have done it. I like him and would not want to criticize him but we need a midfielder who has more pace, can pass forward, shoot and score.

El Khayati has done OK for the games he has played in. Ingram has been excellent. Washington hasn't been great but he may just take time to take the step up.

            • Ouch. This was indeed sad news, but it could be that he is on his way back to Argentina. Good Luck, Mr. QPR. I will miss you.....

The reason came out about him feeling he could be a regular and JFH wanting him to be a back up. It's very understandable from both sides and while I feel he could have been a starter here still, if the manager sees otherwise, fair enough to the lad on not taking a sympathy contract and looking for regular football elsewhere. Our loss will be someone else's benefit (probably NW's)

                • Good player and always came across as decent bloke. Would have preferred him to stay but not to be. Best of luck to him.

                  • It's a sad day because we all love him, but we need new blood with pace in this new chapter to win promotion. Wish him all the best and thank you for some wonderful memory's.

                    • I would be surprised if JFH is able to find a suitable replacement. How many of the players signed recently have actually succeeded. I thought maybe next season we would finish mid table but now I am thinking we will be fighting for survival.

This decisions stinks of naivety and to make a point just for the sake of it. Faurlin has made 30 plus appearances this season and easily our best cm and more than good enough at this level even if he's not the same player from 4 years ago. He's also a fans favourite and embodies the QPR spirit.

To lose both Faurlin and hill is awful and doesn't show much thought from the club. Fans are sentimental and they like to have some players they feel they can relate to. However more importantly he's good enough to be part of our squad.

Faurlin will roll up at another championship club and just like host I bet he helps them push on.

Also why play him and hill and henry if there not in jimmys plans,so looks like we`ll be starting a new season with a complete new midfield, thatll be the next excuse next season bedding in new players, while we draw 80% of our games

Why replace a proven player with a replacement which is always a gamble.

                            • I agree with most of the posts re-Faurlin and Hill. However, nobody is mentioning the FFP and that the club got rid of most of the players that were on good contracts. The club looks more stable financially now with most of the players earning less then 20k. Personally, I liked Faurlin a lot, however, in the Championship you need hard and mobile players that can run all the way to the last minute. You need mid-fielders that can get eight or ten goals a season if your aim is promotion. I cannot expect that from either Faurlin or others released to that matter. We need some new players, younger and better then those released. It may be that its another season in the championship, however, I think the club is heading in the right direction.

                              • Let's be clear I didn't want Faurlin in the 1st team because I think we need better than him or we'll be mid table at best. Having said that, do we currently have anyone better than him in central midfield at present? I cannot understand why he wasn't kept as a squad player. JFH saying: "I couldn't guarantee he would play every game"....I'm sorry but I cannot imagine Faurlin saying that. He doesn't come across as the type of player who would demand to be playing every game. in the years he's been at the club, he has been dropped many times and worked his way back into the side or got injured. Never has we heard that he has sulked. He is also very open about his limitations. I think he's simply not in JFH plans but JFH wanted to give a softer message to placate supporters.
