Always sad to see a good, loyal servant depart.

But let's be honest. He's played 30 games this season and I can't for the life of me think of many in which our midfield has been in any way dominant. Great player for us in his day, but surely this season has proved that he is well past his best. Way too immobile these days.
That's not a dig at all, just an observation as to how far away he is from the player he was.

Wish him luck in whatever he does or wherever he goes next. Hopefully JFH has lined up a suitable replacement, because he'll get a rough ride next season if things aren't drastically improved.

All of them are dynamic and in combination with one of the best ball players in the division, they'd make a very well balanced midfield duo.
Even forgetting his immense footballing ability (any time players have been asked about him they call him one of the best footballers they've played with, coming from Barton and Hoilett to my recollection), his journey is nothing short of magnificent and he'd inspire so many of our young midfielders. No one but Clint can match his heart and the effort he'd put in for this club. That alone is immeasurable in a world of mercenary footballers.
As I've said on another thread, they'd better have some new up and coming Xavi 2.0 to replace him because that's the only sort of player who is good enough to take up his role.

I know, and you guys have seen him a lot more than me. I just think that when picked 30 times, it means that JHF rates Faurlin higher than most of our centre midfielders. When let go we'll need at least two new players better than Faurlin imho. If that is not possible Faurlin should be kept but since he isn't there must be some good players in the pipeline..

I have to agree with Brightonr here, I have loved Ale and Clint and they have been loyal servants but we have finished 14 points short of the play offs...... a big short fall and we need major surgery. JFH will pay the price come Xmas if we are not there or thereabouts even more so now he has let the loyal players such as Ale and Clint go. He clearly wants his own coaching team around him and that is his right. We all would want Clint to have stayed but I think Clint himself still fancies another season and NW will surely snap him up and good luck to him. Lets wait and see who he does bring in before we send him to the gallows, yes it is always sad to see players like Ale and Clint leave but we cannot afford to be sentimental and have to move forward. We have fallen well short this season, Ramsey as we know was hopeless and JFH has not set the world on fire but lets give him pre season and see how we shape up. I am actually looking forward to the next few weeks to see how things unfold, now is the horrible time when players are released. I see Hoilett has said he wants no new contract and I am sure Matty will follow suit. We are looking at possibly 12 going out the door now, that is one big rebuilding job. It is never dull being an R!

the more i think about this, the more i agree with the decision.

We have been sh!te in CM all season. Lack Defensive cover and rarely create anything when going forward. Dont know the actual stats (Feel free to jump in with some Nas), but our CM have been pi$$ poor with assists and goals scored. Looks like a "out with the old, in with the new".

Wont be happy if we retain KH after letting Ale going.

Cant personally make any sense as to why Ale has been starting recently if they obviously knew they were going to release him. Same goes for Hoilett and the rest out of contract who will be on their way. Anyone got any logic to this?

With these decisions it looks like major surgery again and I just don't think we needed to do that.

Faurlin, Henry and hill could of all been utilised and counted on to do their bit next season while still maintaing their presence around the club.

It's 3 extra squad players we need to find now to fill the 22 let alone first 11 to go and actually compete in this league.

The club want to keep Hoilett and Henry. We're currently in talks with them over new contracts (see latest club statement).

I could tell they wanted to keep Henry judging by the latest QPRPlayer interviews.

                    • Stupid decision, and as many have pointed out one the club will live to regret. He played 30 plus games and was pretty much our best midfielder this season, would have only cost relatively low wages to keep on board and by all accounts such a positive person to have in the squad.

So how do we replace him? With financial restrictions only tightening next season I can't see there being any chance of affording players such as Lansbury so will end up with someone else's cast off that isn't going to break the bank on wages and I find it amazingly unlikely that he will be half the player Ale is. Sad times :/

                      • It was crazy to give him contract for this year in the first place. Time to move on. Thank you Ale and good luck!

Very odd statement given he has been one of our better performers and played 30 games?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Is that relegation on the cards now then?

yea fair enough Stanley, my post was before seeing the most recent statement from the club. Does make sense now and hard to argue with what JFH/LF/TF have done based in that statement.
