This is purely a jfh decision based on how he wants to move forward. Just don't agree with it and personally don't understand it. Football is very much a squad game and it's madness to let him go imp.

He will turn up at top championship team imo. Someone like McCarthy at Ipswich will bring him in.
    Fair enough mate.

As I said in my first post on this thread, I get both sides of the argument. If Ale had been offered a new deal I'd have been pleased, at the same time I'm not massively surprised that he hasn't. Can anyone who's watched us play regularly this season actually say they've been impressed by our central midfield? I haven't, for me it's looked incredibly weak and second best in virtually every game I've seen.

Whilst I get the argument of retaining Faurlin and improving the rest of the CM's around him, I also get it if Jimmy wants a clean slate. What I am struggling to understand is why he continued to pick Henry and Faurlin over Luongo if neither of them are being retained. Maybe he doesn't rate Luongo either?

Probably something to do with our back line being an utter shambles with only Hall and Hill when he played coming out with any credit

I bet mr warnocks on the blower to him as we speak.

I agree Ale is great on the ball most of the time but he's essentially half a player because he has lost all mobility. It's bad for the team needing someone to cover him all the time. You don't see that in teams like Boro for example both CMs very mobile and can pass.

To be fair, our CM has been impressively defensively but the clear lack of pace and movement limits our attacking threat.

I'm pretty sure that's what the article is saying mate. Using the word 'hierarchy' later in the article is clearly in reference to the board IMO.

agree but its because they were to busy covering our #### defence

Clearly the manager listens to me after my bye bye Faurlin thread last week.

Joking aside - I like the lad and think he is okay but some of you are a little deluded in how good you think he is. If QPR want to challenge for promotion we need better and you can only assume Jimmy has players in mind.

This outrage we are seeing on here should have happened last season when we let Barton go ( Football reasons ). He led Burnley to the title this season. Although plenty on here would play Faurlin ahead of Barton at this level which is quite frankly ridiculous.

I can understand that, but I think his positional sense is so good that a lot of the time, he's already where he needs to be to make a challenge. Offensively he may be limited, but in terms of winning the ball, playing it around to the attacking players, I don't think there are any in the championship who are as good as him. He may need covering at times, but that's why football is a team sport, remember, we did it for Taarabt (to a degree, I know he wasn't really supposed to be a defensive player at all, but you still need some effort from them) back in the day and he had all the mobility in the world.

Centre midfield for me is the most important area of the pitch so we can't be carrying passengers in that area. I think JFH wants to play a high pressing game like he said when he first come and he knows he can't with Faurlin. It's simple as that.

So, Faurlin leaves the club, this after starting 30 league games this year. JFH must be quite sure of bringing in a couple of decent central midfielders..

Once again allowing my emotions to take control, he'll need an armada of centre mids to do the work that faurlin does in 5 minutes of football.

Now allowing the logical side to take over - as said above, if we're going high pressure, Faurlin could crumble and may get injured again, for his sake, he needed to play a style more suited to him and maybe that wasn't with us.
