Apparently at the game today. Now seen and heard a few rumours that's he has been approached to come back to the club as part of the coaching set up again.

Did anyone see him at the game and hear the same thing? I imagine it's just people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 lol.

Like I said Jim that run of games were easy touches ! for me I think we still would have won those games our early season form was quite good we faded 2nd half just my opinion

Indeed we did, after he left, we won 1 against Barnsley, then going 4 matches without winning including our first loss of the season and then finally beating Charlton only to lose to Doncaster a week later. Compare that to our 7 wins and 2 draws in 9 prior to him leaving and you can see a drastic turnaround. Our next nine in total produced 4 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses, going from 23 points in 9 to 15 points in 9 isn't bad but certainly McClaren's defensive influence turned draws into wins. With McClaren involved, we scored 10 and conceded just 2 in those 9 games. The following 9, we scored 12, conceded 8. A clear difference and with score draws against Millwall and Reading, cutting a goal off that would have kept us right at the top and that's what McClaren brought. As a pure coach, you'd be hard done by to find someone as influential as McClaren in the English game.
