Agree ,championship is getting harder. Even Fulham are shelling out big money for strikers whilst we sell them for peanuts and tell us it's wage cuts.burnley looking good again , our constant #### ups do get on ones bristols!
    Ooh northern lads love gravy

A rubbish midfield, one unable to create anything offensively, means our strikers, whoever they are, haven't even scraps to feed on..... That middle two, whoever they are, are our undoing. They can't score goals. And they sure as hell create few.

Lets see what he can do with a pre season under his belt
I agree. CA was extremely confident that he'd come good, which he did, and wasn't afraid to say so. As he said, he just needed one to go in and the rest would follow. We were probably creating more chances when CA joined and he was given far more game time than Washington, who has spent most of his time sitting on the bench. I doubt he'll ever be as good as CA, who's an exception to the rule, starting off at Poole and ending up being a top premier league striker. Can only think of Vardy and Ian Wright, in recent years, although I'm sure there's a few on here who can name others. Let's see what he can do after he's started a few games, maybe he'll fluke a deflection and he'll be off and running, who knows? As I said CA is an exception to the rule and IMHO, it's grossly unfair to compare the two.

He's got a rare start against a team who are going for the championship away from home. Going to be feeding off scraps most of the game can't blame him really. He took a while to get going at Peterboro so I'm still very confident he will come good.

Way too early to write Washington off. How many games has he started since signing for us?

Let's get a proper midfield first shall we with players who can supply a pass and wingers who are able to cross a ball before we write off another good young prospect? There's obviously still a lot of work to do at rangers some people just can't grasp it. We are on the beach and most strikers would struggle to score in this team at the moment

Get rid of? How about 'play him' for a change so we can see if he's any good? Had a run out tonight and was by no means our worst player. Got pushed out wide then subbed. Not fair on the bloke.

he needs service , we are far to defensive in midfield forever passing it backwards . far to light weight and slow in midfield

How long did it take Austin to score for us?

No way can you write off Washington after a handful of brief appearances

Not very long, he scored in the lague cup this season. But firstly Austin had a consistent run starting every game and secondly he had experience in the league so I agree he should not be wrote of yet at all. At least till the end of next season and then we can judge. Look at players like Lamela, Vidic, and Im sure there are many more who didnt hit the ground running. Plenty take time to adapt to their new club and the pace of the game.

All I can say on Washington is that I spoke with a Peterborough s/t holder just after we bought him and he said the posh fans had thought they had got a very good deal as they believed he was just having a purple patch this season, because up to then he had been pretty ordinary, they didn't believe he could step up and we're very happy with the money, maybe he was correct ??

That's what Adrian Durham said on talk sport at the time too IIRC.

He will go to France with NI this summer and will put in some very good shifts with them because they value him IMO and are prepared to give him a chance. He will be part of a team that will be playing for the shirt and will fight for everything.
He may even score a goal or two.

So we've gone from writing off managers after three games to writing off players when they've barely played for us as well? You've got to laugh at some people on here or you'll cry.....

I thought he was one of our better players last night. Looked lively and created a few half chances for himself.
