Looking at the CCC table this morning made me realise that we drawn the most number of games....17 to be precise. If only we have converted some of those into wins (which we could easily have done by the way we conceded in the last moments in quite a number of games) then we could be in with a shout for the play offs. However, I do feel optimistic that this time in 2017, we will be around those top places.

If we turned all those draws where we conceded in the last 5 minutes into wins, we'd have 10 more points and be 3 off the play offs. If we did the same for losses into draws, we'd have an extra 3 points and actually be off the play offs on goal difference alone and I can imagine yesterday's game would have been very different with two teams vying for play offs. It's small margins but they're enough to make a difference. With a building of fitness over the summer and more work on our defensive technique, we'll be seeing a lot less of those. I'm hopeful of targeting cutting our last minute result changes from 8 matches to 3 or 4."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. All ifs and buts as if we didn't score in the last few minutes then off the top of my head we wouldn't have beaten Bolton, Ipswich and Charlton at home, Reading away and would have lost to Bolton and Leeds away. That's 10 points gained so it does almost even itself out although I generally do focus on the points lost more than the ones gained.
