  • So what was that all about?

In a dead match against a supposedly decent team (they were awful) what did JFH learn about next season with Henry on the right wing and Steptoe recalled at left back? (I am not a Henry hater but wide right?) He's bought Washington and El Khayati so what are they doing on the bench when we have nothing but professional pride to play for? Why not give Kpekwa a run to get his confidence up? If any of them have a mare it's not the end of the world now but it will cost valuable points next year. Apart from last 15 what a bore.

It was to nullify the threat of Whittingham according to JFH's post-game interview. Which tbf to Henry I thought he did a good job on him.

Totally agree that Kpekwa should have started at left back.
Would also like to see Washington start a game with Chery playing behind him.
On Friday JFH said that he wants to experiment where he can and then recalls a 35 and 33 year old.

manager after manager come up with strange selections. but its a results business. JFH sets out not to lose games and seems happy with a draw

This is why he still has to think safety first. Also if he lost against Cardiff, people would have slaughtered him and the Boards Choice of manager.

We comfortably got a point away from home and our new keeper got a clean sheet. Quite succesful really.

There's the 'I spent a shed load of money on tickets and travel and he fields a side that we never going to hold it's own' argument too........who'd be a football manager (if we disregard the £1M+ pay!)

Win at home and draw away, that's solid form right there. To be fair, he clearly has tactics because getting points at Leeds, Cardiff etc are tricky places to go to.

Yea was saying this to a colleague this morning. Seem to be in a place where we go for the win at home and happy to kill games away and take a point. Good mentality to have really and will be a solid base for next year.

I do want Washington, Khayati and Kpewka to get more game time though. I am guessing the thought is that due to Washingtons size, he cant play as a 1 up top, but would like to see him given a go there. Seemed to do it for P'boro, and if we play the right way, his size should have nothing to do with it.

yes to both in bold, Kpekwa I am not sold on just yet. But I guess anyone with more game time will come into their own, to some extent.

yes, know what you mean with Kpewka. more want him to get game time to see if he can do it at this level. The other two im sure can do it, just need a decent run.

I dont see what his best position is. Ultimately if its LB then he wont be playing ahead of Robinson IMO and its more than unlikely that he will push into CB position even with our crop of players in that position.

Its tough, 2 of our current back 4 are relatively young.

Personally I cant help but feel that people are pushing for youngsters so hard, that even if they are 'not' good enough, we would still play them.
